In a 2023 review, a customer described a 2022 project with Michael to remove an old gas cooktop and install a new induction cooktop, which required shutting off the gas line, running electrical to the new stove, building a cabinet to house the new cooktop and demoing and tiling the backsplash. That 2023 customer wrote that he and the sub-contractors he brought in did an expert job and kept the kitchen super clean through the work, and that Michael did everything he said he would in the time frame they agreed to, answered every call and message promptly and arrived right on time every day he was working at the home. In a 2025 review, a customer wrote that Alexis and Mike went above and beyond to help stage the customer's house to sell, that Alexis quickly developed a thorough step-by-step plan, and that she went along to stores to help advise, lift and haul when the customer wanted to buy a few items. In a 2022 review, a customer wrote that she and her husband hired Mike, on their realtor's recommendation, for two houses they were going to make offers on, to learn what changes the town would allow; they decided not to make an offer on the first house based on his information and extended an offer on the second.
OUTSTANDING! From start to finish Mike Mena of Community Matters Bldg was amazing to work with. Timely, responsive, creative strategies, reliable and just overall a nice person. I would absolutely and highly recommend him.
Working with Mike Mena and Community Matters was a great experience! I appreciated how organized he was getting all the contractors and inspections aligned, and made it work with my schedule too. When changes to the plans happened, he was able to gather and offer up different ideas so that my choice worked for what my goals of the project were. I plan on contacting him again for any needs and I highly recommend him and the team!
Alexis and Mike really can't be beat! They went above and beyond to help me stage my house to sell last year. The change was incredible. Alexis was able to see the overall visual outcome (through all of the typical family clutter!) and quickly developed a thorough step-by-step plan to get my house from here to there. She works hard to avoid buying new things and use what the owner already has, which saves the owner money while lessening consumer impact on the environment. Win-win! That said, when I did want to buy a few items, she went with me to stores to help advise, lift, haul, etc. I highly recommend working with them, no matter what your project!
We strongly recommend working with Mike and Alex. Mike and Alex worked as a great team to take the stress out of our remodel and create the bathroom we always wanted. They were easy to communicate with and understood our needs.
We highly recommend Michael and Community Matters! We worked with him on a Dec 2022 project -- we needed to remove an old gas cooktop and install a new induction cooktop. It required shutting off the gas line, running electrical to the new stove, building a cabinet to house the new cooktop and demoing and tiling the backsplash. He and the sub-contractors he brought in did an expert job and were all very friendly and kept our kitchen super clean through the work. Michael did everything he said he would in the time frame we agreed to, he answered every call and message promptly, and arrived right on time every day he was working at our home. Plus reasonable prices and lovely to work with.
