Jed Reisner grew up in Concord working under a local stone mason, then studied architecture at Lehigh, and customers keep describing the result the same way. "They didn't just lay stone," one wrote in May 2025 of a front stoop rebuild with veneer, a bluestone walkway and the drainage underneath it. Concord Stoneworks does landscape construction and stone masonry out of 27 Hemlock Street — dry-stack walls, patios, walkways, and the fence and pool work that goes around them — across Concord, Carlisle, Lincoln, Sudbury, Lexington, Weston, Wayland, Acton, Cambridge, Belmont, Westford, Stow, Harvard and Groton. The Better Business Bureau puts the start date at January 2014 and grades the business A+, though it is not BBB accredited. Water keeps turning up alongside the stone. A May 2025 customer had their old bricks reused in a new walkway and patio pattern and all the drainage reworked to run underground away from the house, coordinated with the asphalt company doing the driveway. In September 2024 a homeowner got a new stone wall and a walkway with drainage around a barn, and said Jed took his time explaining the options. In March 2026 a brick patio that had become, in the owner's words, "a bumpy ant farm with four-foot weeds" was replaced, with the crew working inside a newly painted fence and covering the outdoor heat pump equipment in plastic to protect it. They take rescues, too. A couple who wrote in April 2024 brought Concord Stoneworks in after another contractor's fireplace modifications, and an August 2026 customer picked their bid over a considerably higher one to fix an uneven granite walkway — the proposal added cobblestones along the edge to hold the granite in place. Two accounts run the other way and one is serious. A September 2023 reviewer said steps were installed inconsistent with the town code, and that the result was a condominium special assessment of more than $12,000 per unit, reaching more than $16,000 where owners had also paid privately. The same complaint appears on the company's BBB page. Separately, a customer writing in October 2022 said repeated calls went unanswered. If you want stonework that looks like it has been there a century — dry-stacked walls, granite stairs, a bluestone terrace with the water going somewhere sensible — this is a crew that plans it with you first. For anything on shared or condominium property, get the step risers and grades checked against your town's code in writing before work starts, and settle up front who returns your calls once the crew is on site.
I secured two bids for fixing unevenness in our granite walkway. The Bid from Concord Stoneworks was considerably lower than the other bid I received, and they proposed adding cobblestones along the walkway to help keep the granite in place. The results look great.
Concord Stoneworks handled the repairs to my fieldstone wall in a very professional and caring manor. Emails were sent, questions answered , time lines expained, details described.,etc . Concord Stoneworks followed through with my project and the rock wall repairs were completed beautifully. I once again have a stonewall that promotes safety and improves the aesthetics of my property. I enjoyed working with everyone from the front office and the field crew, who checked with me regularly for questions and to ensure satisification. Concord Stoneworks was a pleasure to work with.
Jed replaced an old brick patio that had become a bumpy ant farm with four-foot weeds. It was a complex job due to the surrounding newly painted fence and nearby heat pump outdoor equipment. Jed's crew worked carefully inside the fence and covered the heat pumps with plastic to protect them . New bricks were installed with a weed barrier and several inches of polymeric sand. A cobblestone border keeps the new bricks in place. New granite steps replaced the worn, peeling, wooden deck. To improve drainage, Jed installed a new drain pipe underneath the bricks. The old bricks were used to repair bumps in the walkways due to chipmunk tunnels. The new brick work is impeccable providing a beautiful outdoor patio to enjoy with family and friends. Jed is a professional who does quality work with a courteous, experienced crew. I highly recommend Concord Stoneworks!
Concord Stoneworks did an amazing job updating our old brick fireplace into this beautiful stone! They were fast and professional and even installed a live edge wood mantle that we love! Can’t say enough good things!!!
Jed, Vin and Marcio were fantastic from start to finish. We came up with a detailed plan and it was executed to perfection. Front stoop rebuild, veneer, bluestone walkway and drainage. Thorough and detailed. Meticulous craftsman. They didn’t just lay stone, they completely reimagined our entire entryway. Replaced a failing walkway and crumbling stoop. Addressed drainage issues, buried downspouts, removed boulders, graded the area, moved the lamp post. Many other little add ons to complete the area. The entry is now clean, modern and fully functional. It will out last the house. Highly recommend.
