Cooper Paving & Excavating is a paving contractor based out of Swanzey, New Hampshire. The company says it has been in business 50 years, and it carries a 4.9-star Google rating from 80 ratings and an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. Recent driveway jobs lead the way. A recent customer said Cooper installed a recycled pavement driveway on a challenging driveway that was in bad shape. One recent job included a dig out, a new paved section and a fix to an old paved section. A customer who had waited 35 years to pave a driveway said the pricing came with no hidden costs or extra fees. One recent customer said Denice came by in the morning and again in the afternoon "to make sure everything was going the way it should," and that Cooper Paving was not the lowest quote they received. A 2025 customer said the company replaced a gravel driveway with rolled asphalt and added a french drain with a grate alongside the concrete apron of the garage for drainage. A 2025 reviewer wrote that the demolition was completed within about five hours. A recent customer said the asphalt along the front of the garage was not sloped properly, causing bad flooding of the garage, and that Denice refused to come by to look at the problem. That customer also said delivery trucks were still leaving deep divots two months after the job. A 2023 customer later wrote that after 9 months the driveway had begun to deteriorate, with material running off into the street, and that a message sent a couple of weeks earlier had not been answered.

Cooper came and installed a recycled pavement driveway for us and I couldn’t be happier. We have a somewhat challenging driveway, and it was in bad shape. Now it is a pleasure to drive on and I’m almost looking forward to snow removal this winter. Almost. Outstanding work and great company to work with. Would definitely recommend.

Denice is right there for you when it is time to lock in contracts and get paid but after that do not expect her to work with you if you call to say you have a problem. She gets very nasty and insists they did nothing wrong. She refuses to even come by your home to look at the problem. When Denice and her crew first finished paving our large driveway we were happy as the crew worked hard and it appeared to look good in our niave eyes. Unfortunately, soon afterwards we started to have problems with the way they built up the asphalt along the front of the garage. It was not sloped properly and they took it level with the garage doors causing problems during rains and bad flooding of the garage. We also started having problems with the asphalt not curing properly even after keeping all vehicles off the driveway for over 2 weeks. We still have trouble with the tires of FEDX and UPS vehicles leaving deep divots and creating loose stones that come out of the holes that will not cement back in. This problem still happens 2 months after the job was done. The day the job was completed, Denice told us "do not to call anyone but me if there is a problem". DO NOT BE FOOLED BY HER. Because if you do have a problem you will never see or hear from her ever again!! Kathleen & John Killmeyer
