Copper & Slate Company, Inc

Copper and slate are the whole point here. The Copper & Slate Company works out of Waltham and describes itself as a fine roofing and exterior finish carpentry contractor built around those two materials — the kind of roof that wants a crew who has handled it before. A 2021 Google reviewer put names to that crew: Garrett Laws, working with Bob and Omri, who the reviewer said know copper, slate and older roofs, and recommended them for slate and copper roof work. The company has been at this a while. Its BBB profile puts the founding at 1999 and the payroll at eight people, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #165700, is active on the state registry. The company says it works Brookline, Cambridge, Chestnut Hill, Concord, Newton, Waban and Wellesley. If you have a slate or copper roof on an older house, this is a narrow specialist rather than a general roofer, which is usually what that job calls for. Before booking, ask to see recent slate or copper jobs nearby, confirm the registration and insurance, and get the scope of any flashing and finish carpentry work in writing.
