The Waltham company works mostly in windows, doors and siding, with roofing, decks, and interior finish work alongside it — a 2026 customer had wainscoting, beadboard, a sink and painting done in three days, another had the attic finished, another had walls and a door added to close off a basement. Harvey units come up constantly. Pricing lands well: several homeowners who collected multiple bids say Three Sons came in at or below the others, and one 2025 reviewer contrasted a fair number written on a yellow notepad with the iPad presentations from bigger outfits.
The recurring complaint is not the work — it's getting them to answer. In June 2026 a homeowner said they came out fast, quoted, then went silent through an email and two voicemails. That same story appears in 2022 (four unreturned calls about a South Boston condo), in 2023 (a siding quote that never arrived after three calls), and again in 2022 from a customer who met the rep and waited a month. Even a satisfied 2025 reviewer warned not to expect confirmation calls.
One complaint goes further. A March 2025 customer reported that Three Sons did not pull the permit for an exterior door replacement despite it being in the contract, that the jamb sat 3/4" proud of the drywall — an installation the door manufacturer told them was wrong — and that the owner refused responsibility. Weigh it against a 2026 review from a different customer who says the company pulled the city permits for their window and roof job. A 2023 bay-window customer also went 3.5 weeks with siding off the house and the frame exposed before anyone came back.
The balance is easy to read: 4.7 on Google across 134 ratings, 4.7 on Thumbtack across 100, an A+ BBB grade with accreditation since 2010, and 23 reviews in the last six months carrying just one negative. If you want windows installed cleanly by an experienced crew at a fair number, this is a solid call — but get the quote timeline, the permit responsibility, and who answers the phone written down before you sign.

25+ years. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and answered my thousand questions patiently. Susan, scheduling plus numerous other hats is a pleasure to deal with and then there is their crews. On both occasions the crews have been exceptional. Junior has been on both my installs, grateful!!!!! Grateful to Jon who completed my most recent install.
