Costas Hatzis Electric works out of 236 Somerville Ave in Somerville and covers the Greater Boston area, describing itself as a family-owned shop handling residential, commercial and industrial electrical systems. The BBB file records the corporation as started in July 2016 with six employees and Costas Hatzis as president. Customers name people, not just the company. Costas himself shows up in most accounts, alongside Cosmo, Izzy, Jaren, Kat, Israel and Bobby, and several reviewers are on their third or fourth job. A February 2026 landlord wrote that after the Blizzard of 2026 took power lines down and left a household of eight without heat, Costas was the only electrician who came out that night, and coordinated with the tenants, the fire department and the utility. A June 2026 customer described calling the number on an electrical service the company had installed a year earlier for a contractor — not for them — and having a bird's nest problem fixed a few days later at no charge. The work described is mostly modern residential: EV chargers (including one that needed 50 feet of trenching), Tesla Wall Connectors, 200-amp service upgrades, panel swaps with the breakers labelled, recessed lighting, ceiling fans and floor outlets, plus low-voltage door strike and card-reader work in a commercial fit-out. Pricing comes up repeatedly and in the same direction: an October 2025 EV-charger customer who collected several quotes said the job was not cheap but priced better than every alternative, a 2025 real-estate agent called the pricing fair, and a 2021 customer said the job came in at the estimated price. Scheduling draws the same praise — a next-day estimate with the install the same week in a 2023 review, and a same-day fix during a July heat wave when other contractors could not come. The record is unusually one-sided — 38 published reviews, all five stars, from 2021 to 2026 — but it reads as genuine rather than manufactured: the bodies vary widely in length, name recurring crew members across years, and describe distinct, itemised jobs. Worth confirming for yourself: the state licence held by the electrician who will do your work, since no registry record was matched to this company here.
“Check out Costas Hatzis electric. Busy team but they do good work.”
The technicians came out to install a ceiling fan and a new outlet and switch for the pool equipment. The work was conducted in a timely manner, they were very respectful and told us when they were going to use power tools so our children did not get startled! The technicians cleaned the work area well and we plan on using them again!
Hey just had to share this story about how amazing Costas Hatzis is. We had them do a big job for us but the contractor hired them not us. A year later we had a birds nest in the electric service they installed and I called their number on the box. They not only got back the same day but just a few days later came and fixed the issue. No charge just fixed. Just wanted to thank them so much- its not every day you have a company that stands by their work a year later with no grief at all. They didn't ask when they did the job or who I was, or anything. They just were very nice and came and fixed the issue. A rare thing in the world of home repairs/ contractors. They are the real deal and stand by their work!

The blizzard of 2026! A tree took down power lines and left a household of 8 people, two dogs, and three cats without electric and heat. Costas was the only man who come out for these folks in the blizzard that night. Not only did he save the day, but he did very professional and competent work. He also communicated very effectively with me, the tenants, the fire dept, and the utility company. All for a very fair price. Whether you’re a renter, a homeowner, or a landlord like me, save Costas’s number.
We hired Costas Hatzis to upgrade our home to 200 amp service. The price was great and the quality of work was top notch. Will definitely go back to them first with any future electrical projects and would highly recommend to anyone.
