Courteney Paints LLC

Courteney Paints LLC is a Boston-based residential and commercial painting company run by owner Shaqueal Thomas ("Shaq"), offering interior and exterior painting across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The company describes itself as family-owned. Thumbtack states it has verified the company's Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license and a Rhode Island contractor license, both listed as valid through April 2028. The written record, running from 2020 to the present, is consistently strong and detailed. In a 2025 review, a customer described the company painting their entire seven-bedroom, five-bathroom house while they were out of town, with Shaq checking in regularly and sending photo updates throughout. Other reviewers describe multiple rooms painted while staying within budget, a deck repainted in time for a family cookout, and a bathroom paint issue fixed proactively during a project. Recent 2026 reviews echo the same pattern: clear communication, punctuality, and attentiveness to the customer's preferences from the initial consultation onward. Thumbtack's own page shows a 4.9-star rating across 112 reviews, with 93% five stars. Nothing in the record raises a specific concern about the company's work — every detailed account describes a positive, well-communicated painting project. For interior or exterior painting in the greater Boston area, the record points to a responsive, well-reviewed family-run company; as with any painting job, confirm the surface prep and number of coats included in your estimate before work begins. Rhode Island lists its home improvement contractor registration, GC-48388, as active, held by Courteney Paints LLC.
