Crawford Vogel & Wenzel is a Manchester heating-oil company that also keeps the equipment running — home heating oil and diesel delivered across southern New Hampshire, plus oil furnace and burner installation and service and SpacePak central air. The company traces its roots to Crawford & Vogel in the 1940s, says Herb Wenzel bought it in 1978, and that his son Mike joined in 1987 and now owns and runs it. A New Hampshire gas fitting licence held by William A Wenzel is active, and its BBB page shows an A+ with accreditation going back to 1989. Delivery and the emergency call are what customers write about. In a March 2025 review, a homeowner who came home to the smell of oil in the cellar said Mike was on site within the hour and covered the pinhole with a magnet to hold it until the repair; the quote came in well under what the customer had been finding online, Mike phoned ahead about clearing the driveway, and two technicians were working by 8:15 the next service morning. A first-time homeowner wrote in February 2023 about a first delivery within days of calling and Mike walking them through everything they needed to know about the system. In January 2026 a customer said fuel arrived fast after an 18-inch snowfall, and in August 2026 another called deliveries timely with flexible payment options. The complaints are about the front of the house rather than the truck. Two one-star reviews from January 2024 say the owner did not respond to inquiries or feedback, and one of those customers moved to another supplier. In December 2021, someone whose elderly parents' furnace had quit described a phone call with nobody willing to help. A November 2025 reviewer who was otherwise happy asked the company to post its cost per gallon. One thing to weigh: Google's overall score is 3.5 stars across 27 ratings, lower than the written reviews on their own would suggest — the ratings left without comment run below the ones with. For an established local oil supplier with a service side attached and a burner tech who turns up when the cellar smells of oil, this fits. Ask for the current per-gallon price on the call, and settle how after-hours service works before signing a delivery agreement.
