A burst pipe is the kind of call this shop is built for. In a January 2023 review a homeowner described Chris Roy talking them through what to do while he was still on his way, then arriving and handling it. CRoy Plumbing & Heating works out of Danvers, and by its own account on its website has done plumbing and heating in Massachusetts since 2000 — the BBB file puts the business start at March 2000 and lists two employees under Chris Roy as owner. Google carries 4.8 stars across 63 ratings, with written reviews going back to 2021. The pattern running through them is consistent: fast answers, the problem explained as it is worked, and prices customers keep calling fair. A 2022 reviewer said a larger company quoted twice what Chris charged for the same kitchen faucet. A December 2025 customer whose heat had failed described him working through a boiler no longer manufactured, ordering the part, and making sure they had space heaters in the meantime. Several write as repeat customers of five years or more, one of them trusting him with lock-box access to a property. Two accounts cut the other way, and both are worth reading. In August 2022 a customer rated the company one star after a spigot-replacement request went unanswered on the website, then unanswered by text for two weeks, before being told he was not interested in the job. And a January 2026 review — filed at five stars, oddly, given what it says — describes a tub drain he could not clear and advice to bring in a drain company, after which the customer had another plumber clear it in an hour for $180. Its BBB profile is A+ and accredited since 2019, and BBB lists a Massachusetts plumbing licence number, 16304, on that page. That number is BBB's own record, not something confirmed against the state register here, so ask for the licence and check it with the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters before committing to anything large. A good fit for Essex County homeowners who want a small, owner-run shop for water heaters, boilers, gas work and everyday repairs — the site names Middleton, Beverly, Peabody, Marblehead, Danvers, Salisbury, Georgetown, Boxford and Saugus. Get the scope in writing for anything drain-related, and if you need a quick answer, call rather than use the web form.
The best. Always available to fix problem
Chris and his team handled our plumbing issue at our office, quickly and professionally. We call CRoy plumbing for all our plumbing issues.
Chris came down and could not snake my tub all the way, thought he might have to cut a hole in the wall, ultimately he installed a Flow Valve in one toilet and the other toilet he did nothing. Told me I had to take out my toilet and have a drain company clean it out and my sewer pipe. Also he told me I could not get flappers for my toilets because it was too old. I hired another plumber, came right down, cleared out my tub drain, cleaned out my toilet. No walls cut, no drain company needed and it took 1 hour and he charged 180. I love him and I have lots more projects for him. Chris, I can't even get him to send me a receipt for the 395. for a job where I was left in the same shape as when he arrived. I feel ripped off. I would not recommend him. UPDATE: Chris contacted me and has reimbursed me 225 for the tub pipe he could not snake. Thank you Chris for taking care of this. I feel so much better.
My heat wasn’t working and Chris came right away. He worked patiently eliminating issues and finally discovering the part that was the problem on a boiler that isn’t manufactured anymore. He kept me informed of each step and what he needed to do next- parts needed to be ordered he made sure I was comfortable and had enough space heaters. I highly recommend CROY Plumbing and Heating.
I have been using Chris Roy for my plumbing for the past five years. Chris is very professional and takes pride in his work. He runs his business with great communication and he shows up on time. The times that I'm able to be with Chris while he does his work he explains everything to me on what my plumbing issue is. He also advises me on how he's going to resolve the issue. The times that I'm not able to be with Chris I fully trust him entering the property and accessing the property via a lock box on the premises. My family also has been using Chris as well over the years and we always had great service from Chris and his people that work for him. If you ever need a further recommendation after reading my review just ask Chris for my number and I'd be happy to answer any questions about CRoy Plumbing.
