Current Energy is a full-service electrical and solar company at 203 South Street in Bernardston, north of Greenfield, run by owner Chris Krezmien with Ryan Martin as co-owner. It holds a Massachusetts electrician licence (8523) and a Home Improvement Contractor registration (207578), both verified active with the state and both recorded under the company's own name, and it says it does the panel, the wiring and the electrical work in-house instead of subcontracting it. Customers describe the same shop consistently. In August 2024 a homeowner said the roof system came with good information up front, no hype and no sales pressure, that communication and follow-up continued through installation and commissioning, and that they were in their second month with no electric bill — calling it a trade-forward shop rather than a marketing-heavy company with installers. A February 2024 customer who wanted only six 400-watt panels tied to battery generators they already owned said they contacted at least a dozen installers, that everyone else wanted to sell them about twenty panels and a grid tie, and that Chris and Ryan came back with a detailed quote at a reasonable price. A December 2023 customer described panels levelled to fit a sagging roof and work finished efficiently in poor weather. Service after the sale shows up too. A July 2026 reviewer whose FranklinWH battery went offline two years after installation said the company responded quickly to repair it, and a September 2023 customer had 14 panels reinstalled on a garage roof after storm damage when the original installer would not come. Google shows 5.0 from seven ratings, and BBB grades the company A, citing length of time in business, on a profile the business has not accredited. The work spans Western Massachusetts, Southern Vermont and Southwest New Hampshire, covering roof- and ground-mount solar, battery backup, EV charging and smart load management for homes, businesses and farms — and, as a licensed electrical contractor, general electrical work as well. Volume is the main caveat: seven public reviews is a small record, so ask for local references on a system like yours and get the design and price in writing.
