CWB Contractors is a West Bridgewater commercial construction company that says it has operated since 1952, with second-generation leadership from Stephen, Larry, and Jim Leonard. The company describes work in general construction, Butler metal buildings and products, and commercial reroofing across Massachusetts and New England. Customers describe substantial commercial projects rather than small residential repairs. A 2025 reviewer praised a 30-by-75-foot insulated steel building from design through assembly, including coordination with related trades. Another customer said they had used CWB since 1998 for additions and new buildings ranging from 4,000 to 30,000 square feet. A 2025 partner review praised collaborative work, field craftsmanship, safety focus, and attention to detail. An older customer described a 10,000-square-foot remodel in 2009 and a 35,000-square-foot expansion completed over two years during Covid, emphasizing guidance and trust. The company says it is fully licensed and insured, maintains hoisting, OSHA, and field-crew certifications, and is a Butler Manufacturing partner. BBB lists an A+ grade and says the corporation has 54 years in business, though it is not BBB accredited. A 2024 trade ranking lists CWB in West Bridgewater and identifies metal buildings and metal roofing. One government-enforcement source reports a 2009 OSHA inspection at the West Bridgewater roofing facility resulting in two citations and $1,500 in proposed penalties. Ask about the current resolution of that historical matter, the project manager and subcontractor plan, safety documentation, schedule controls, and exactly what is included in a turnkey proposal. CWB is best suited to owners planning commercial additions, metal buildings, reroofing, or other larger construction work. Confirm current licenses, insurance certificates, scope, and references for a project comparable in size and complexity.

“### Brockton ... JM Pet Resort is pleased to announce that the final “I-beam” has been placed in the second story construction project which began in March. Located at 1014 Pearl Street, Brockton MA, JM Pet Resort is the premiere destination for all pets and the people who love them. The second story addition to the building will nearly triple the square footage devoted to dogs and cats. The occasion was marked with an official signing ceremony where all 62 JM team members along with their extended CWB Contractor family were invited to sign the beam before it was hoisted into its final locatio”
I had a 30 x 75' insulated steel building put up by CWB Contractors and I have nothing but good things to say about the whole project from the design phase forward. Everyone from the project manager to the steel assemblers were pleasant and easy to work with. All of the associated contractors such as excavators, foundation and floor contractors, and electrical were equally easy to work with. I originally chose CWB at the recommendation of the other person in town who had worked with them constructing 2 large commercial steel buildings. He stated you won't find better and he was right. I had asked in the design phase to use 2 sliding doors and 2 large windows that had been salvaged from other buildings. When that installation was complete, it looked like the salvaged fixtures had been designed for the building. The quality of workmanship exceeded expectations. I highly recommend CWB. Not only will you be pleased with the finished building but you will also enjoy the comfortable low stress vibe from design through construction to completion. Julian Kadish, Norton MA
Over the years I was responsible for multiple construction projects ranging from 4,000 sq. ft. to 30,000 sq. ft. additions / new buildings. For most of these projects I have used CWB Contractors starting back in 1998. Prior to working with them I did a few projects with other contractors that needed constant supervision. In 1998 my first project with Decas Cranberry, I used CWB for our first building and the project went extremely well. Over the years Decas Cranberry has put up multiple additions and we used CWB Contractors. The brothers Jim, Steve and Larry Leonard and Larry’s son Brandon are in total sink and work very well together making the projects move along smoothly. The field construction team is very experienced and works extremely well with subcontractors. I retired in 2020 and was asked to help manage the construction of the Damien’s Food Pantry in Wareham MA. I immediately decided to work with CWB Contractors, and it was another project that I am very proud to say, they did an outstanding job. I would recommend anyone to give them a call.
We have partnered with CWB since 2000. Their collaborative approach and field craftsmanship is outstanding. Safety is always top of mind and attention to detail never questioned. They are a knowledgeable and trusted partner that is greatly valued by BODE.
If I could give them 10 stars I would. I have had the pleasure of working with CWB on more than one occasion- first in 2009 to do a complete re-model of my 10,000sf building. The best part of this experience was the trust Steve and his team earned. I was inexperienced and they guided me every step of the way always having my best interest in mind. In 2020 I expanded to 35,000 sf and I never had a doubt of who I would want to help me build my dream. The construction was a two year project- done over the entirety of Covid and I am proud and honored to say that I took great joy in always answering the same when ever some would ask - how's your building coming/ how is your contractor. WIth Pride I would always answer, running right on time, - I am so lucky I have the best contractor. Steve and his guys worked tirelessly around our open business one section at a time keeping us up and running never causing me or my team too miss a day of work-- even during a pandemic. Using CWB was one of the best business decisions I have ever made, and if I was to build another building I would use them again.
