A March 2025 Google reviewer reached out to four companies and went with David Cressey to install three heat pumps, choosing him partly because he agreed to avoid mounting on the outside walls to suit the house's look, which took more work on his part. D.A. Cressey Heat Pumps & Electric serves Brunswick, Bath, Topsham, Harpswell, Wiscasset, Damariscotta and nearby towns, claims 22 years in business and offers free estimates. The licence behind the business is David Cressey's: Maine's Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation lists his electrician licence, MS60019360, as active. Three 2024–2025 reviews describe heat pump installs. In an August 2025 review, a repeat customer said this was the second unit Dave had installed for them and that he was handling the rebate paperwork on their behalf. A May 2025 reviewer said Dave walked through the pros and cons of each type of unit and followed through on what he said, and a September 2024 customer said the pumps went in quickly with regular updates. The complaints are sharp. A September 2025 Google reviewer gave one star, calling the company disrespectful and accusing it of upcharging and doing awful work. A BBB reviewer praised the workmanship but said they would never hire him again. Google shows 4.2 stars from 30 ratings, and the BBB grades the company A+.
Biggest joke there is. Disrespectful as it gets upcharge the hell out of you. Another case of a “master electrician” ripping people off and doing awful work 10/10 do not recommend
We finally pulled the trigger on this project. Thanks to D.A. Cressey Electric and dynamic duo helpers. We now have heat to take the chill off the house and I'm sure tomorrow the AC cause heck we live in Maine. Dave helped us complete the paperwork for the rebate and will submit it on our behalf. This is the second one he has installed for us and we highly recommend him.
D.A. Cressey did a great job for us. Dave came to our house and discussed all of the options giving the pros and cons of each type of unit. He always followed through and did what he said he would do. Dave and the crew are knowledgeable and personable and give great service. Dave is a master at his craft and we are so pleased with the finished project.
Excellent Service from David Cressey I recently had the pleasure of working with David Cressey, who installed three heat pumps at my home. Initially, I reached out to four different companies, each offering varying solutions. David’s quote stood out not only for its high BTU rating but also for his willingness to accommodate our specific aesthetic preferences by avoiding external wall installations. This approach required more effort on his part, but he was attentive to our needs and worked collaboratively with us. The installation process was remarkably clean and professional, reflecting David’s dedication to quality workmanship. I highly recommend his services.
Great to work with and excellent communicator. Got the pumps in quickly and kept us up to date during the whole process. Now that we have our pumps I couldn't imagine living without them
