When an eight-year-old ReVision Energy solar system stopped working, a May 2026 Google reviewer emailed the company, got a reply right back explaining the problem and the timeline, and had the inverter replaced by Chris and his partner with no bill. That reviewer also said ReVision had cost more than other companies at the start but was worth it. ReVision is an employee-owned renewable energy installer, 100% employee-owned through an ESOP since 2017, that says it serves Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts from branches including South Portland and Montville, offering solar, battery storage, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters and EV charging. It traces its start to 2003 in Belfast, Maine. Install accounts are detailed. A February 2025 reviewer said ReVision handled interior roof structural work, permits and utility coordination for a 30-panel array and left everything spotless; another that month praised a heat pump install in a wood-heated log house. On Reddit, a September 2025 commenter said ReVision did their heat pumps, solar and house battery in Maine, and a January 2025 commenter said it worked with their roofer so the roof warranty stayed intact. Service calls and phones draw the complaints. An August 2026 reviewer said it was impossible to get anyone on the phone or a promised call back. In 2024, several reviewers described weeks-long waits for maintenance callbacks, and one said a project took 22 months to finish. Two of those 2024 reviews concern SunBug Solar, which one reviewer said is now ReVision Energy. An October 2025 reviewer said a staff member was dismissive and hung up on them. Joshua L. Baston holds an active Maine electrician licence, MS60021285, on the state registry. ReVision holds 4.9 stars from 354 Google ratings and 4.9 from 119 on Angi.
“I got an email from Revision Energy last week about how there’s some kind of corporate rebate still in effect”
“I would recommend my installer, ReVision Energy. They are low pressure and can provide you with an estimate so you can consider your options.”
“I had a great experience with ReVision Energy - they are local to NE and an employee-owned certified B-corp (public interest corporation). Very knowledgeable, no pressure, great to work with throughout the project.”
“Mine was organized by Revision Energy and they call it MOCS Member Owned Community Solar.”
“I own member owned community solar from Revision that provides my power”
Revision Energy installed our solar panels on our house. From the first meeting, the staff at Revision exhibited expertise and professionalism at every step. They completed all of the requirements from the state, the town, the energy company and kept us posted at each stage. The installation staff were great to work with, professional and highly trained. We highly recommend ReVision if you are considering solar. We are seeing the results immediately and will be seeing the results for years.
Today is the 6th Anniversary of having my heat pump installed and getting a solar array! I'm pleased as punch! The payback period was closer to 4 years than the 7 years I estimated. I got a Powerwall, more panels, an EV, and a few panels in a Revision Solar farm. Any concern (and there have been no problems) is quickly dealt with by their efficient customer service and staff! Kudos! I just had an annual checkup on my Heat Pump! Service was very well and efficiently done! Arrived on Time, and even suggest ed places I could put my antiques that I am downsizing. Thank you!
Everything about my experience with Revision Energy was top notch from first contact to completion of the project. They made a very complex process simple and easy. I can't recommend them highly enough.
About one month ago, ReVision Energy installed a 28-panel solar array on the roof of our house. The experience was top-notch from start to finish. Luke, our salesman, was very well informed and patiently explored options with us - both for the solar array itself and for the financial aspect of it. Anna, a coordinator at ReVision, kept us very well informed during the period between contract formation and installation (about two months) and guided us through the paperwork with CMP. The installation team - Josh, Jeremy, Samantha, and Moose - all seemed very competent in their work and were as unobtrusive as possible. All the folks we encountered at ReVision seemed to be happy in their work, which, of course, is a goal of an employee-owned company. The price was almost exactly the same (maybe slightly less) as that from the company to which we compared ReVision. Thus far, we have been very pleased with electrical production (it seems to be slightly greater than projected by ReVision, but it will take a whole year of experience to know for sure). ReVision Energy is highly recommended!
I would like to say I had a wonderful positive experience with ReVision Energy. Thanks to Ethan for helping me with the estimate and loan. To the crew who did my installs for heat pump and water heat pump. Great bunch of guys. Friendly , knowledgeable and very hard working. Thanks again, from one very satisfied customer. Linda
