Every trail this company leaves runs out in 2011. Its last Massachusetts building permit, its last customer review, and its home improvement contractor registration all stop in the same year. D'Alelio Construction works out of 31 Lewis Road in Swampscott, and describes itself as a second-generation family business of 46 years built around foundation repair and waterproofing, with masonry, concrete, retaining walls, excavation and Unilock paver work alongside it. Angi lists it as a UniLock certified installer. The customer history is deep and dated. Angi carries 4.5 from 68 ratings, and the written accounts behind it — fair pricing, crews that turned up when promised, sites left clean — belong to 2008 through 2011. That same profile runs on HomeAdvisor under an identical record number, so it is one platform's history shown twice rather than two independent ones. Two complaints sit inside that older run and are worth knowing: concrete that cracked within months with the company declining responsibility, and a customer stood up for two scheduled appointments. The registration is the thing to settle first. BuildZoom shows Massachusetts home improvement contractor number 114720 as inactive, expired 10-18-2011, and reports that Mass.gov once listed it cancelled. That is a directory's account, not something confirmed against the state register here. BuildZoom also scores the company 0, but it calculates that score from licence status, not from anything a customer said, so it carries no verdict on the work. For a failing foundation or a wet basement on the North Shore, this is a firm that did precisely that work, and did it well by most accounts — a long time ago. Confirm with the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation that the company is currently registered and insured before anything else, and ask for jobs it has finished in the past year.

Totally pro. Keeps up the communication during the project, sent me pictures (i'm out of state), takes credit cards. Painless process.

We were delighted with D'Alelio. We spoke with several companies and recieved quotes from several. He had the best price and was very Professional. We were in a hurry to get this project done and he was able to get to us within a week. He even called to say he could come a day earlier then scheduled if we wanted. I could not have been happier with the work they did. Very professional and polite, the job was done in a very timely manner, they were here when they said they would and were finished when they said the would be. I would hired them again & would highly recommend them to anyone who needs concrete work done.
