Reviews describe replacements involving old or nonstandard bulkheads, precast stairs, cranes, excavators, custom extensions, and difficult access, with customers repeatedly reporting dry basements and finished work that looks and operates well. The company holds an active Massachusetts construction supervisor license CS-103930 under Richard T O'Brien. Before booking, confirm the project scope, access and equipment needs, materials, timing, and the applicable license details for the planned work. Baystate Bulkhead appears suited to homeowners replacing deteriorated or leaking bulkheads, including projects requiring excavation or custom fitting. Ask for a written proposal and confirm the installation plan and cleanup expectations.
I had a 70 year old all metal bulkhead and stairs that need to be completely replaced. I called Baystate Bulkhead and talked with Rich about the job. We had a really good discussion about the logistics to get to the old basement and he visited my house to check it out. With his knowledge he figured out the best way to get the precast base to where it needed to be. Also the bulkhead was in a tight space between a deck and back stairs. From start to finish Rich and Joe did a great job coordinating and installing the new bulkhead installation. They were professional, courteous, knowledgable and friendly. Rich also answered any questions I had during the installation. If you need bulkhead work I highly recommend talking to Rich at Baystate Bulkhead. Thanks Rick and Joe for a job well done. Rick
Exceptional service. Had a leaky bulkhead and Rich came out on a Sunday before a week’s worth of rain to make sure we were dry. Quick and extremely professional. Very happy!!
Professional, knowledgeable, efficient, reasonably priced, and easy to deal with.
We're so happy with the results of our new Bulkhead from Bay State Bulkhead. Richard was great - really knowledgeable, friendly and easy to deal with. His prices are very reasonable too. Our old bulkhead was likely original and totally rotting - it was in really rough shape. He was able to fit us in sooner than expected and had the job done in only a couple of hours. We now have a new bulkhead with gas-assisted pistons on the door that make it so much easier to open, and it won't accidentally slam shut on you. I've already recommended him to a friend of mine who also needs their bulkhead replaced.
We needed a full replacement of our 60 year old bulkhead. Rich O’Brien was very knowledgeable, explained the process thoroughly, and got back to me quickly with a competitive price. We felt very comfortable that Rich was extremely capable and had the experience to complete the job. After the installation, he and his team completely cleaned up the debris and were very neat. They are an excellent team. We are very happy with our new bulkhead!
