D. Hall General Contracting is a Natick, MA remodeling contractor. On its BuildZoom profile, the company says it has served the Metro West and Greater Boston areas for over a decade and specializes in hardwood flooring, remodeling baths, kitchens and basements, window replacements, and building and repairing decks. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor license 177993, held by Donald Hall, is expired on the state registry. In a 2016 review, a customer wrote that Joe Teti, who then worked for D. Hall Construction, remodeled their kitchen in Brookline: the existing kitchen was gutted and replaced with new windows, cabinets, counter tops and floors in a timely fashion and on budget. In a 2019 Angi review, a customer wrote that Don was always on time and on budget, offered a great price, and had done multiple projects for them. Another 2019 Angi reviewer called it a really good job and wrote that everything was cleaned up. Later in 2019, a customer wrote that Mr. Hall walked out on their project when it was less than half finished, taking about $6,000 for material he had incorrectly ordered or never bought; the subcontractor he had hired stepped up to finish, and that customer wrote that they were filing a MA HIC complaint. In 2022, a customer who hired Donny for two bathroom remodels wrote that he subcontracted the plumbing to an unlicensed plumber who could not install a simple toilet, that Donny tried to cover it up, which resulted in extensive leaks and water damage, and that he then sent them a $3k invoice for the licensed plumber's repair work. That customer also wrote that a custom window was ordered incorrectly and installed though it was not compliant with code, and that he had stopped returning calls with the project unfinished.

We hired Donny for two bathroom remodels. He subcontracted the plumbing to an unlicensed plumber who could not even install a simple toilet. Donny tried to cover it up which resulted in extensive leaks and water damage. We ended up having to rip out new tile and wall. Donny them sent us the invoice for the repair work from the licensed plumber who was hired to fix the mess. $3k. Donny ordered a custom window incorrectly that was not compliant with code. He knowingly installed and did not take ownership to correct. He has not returned calls and we are left with an unfinished project. Stay away! He lies and is shady.
He walked out on the project when it was less than half finished. Unfortunately, he took with him about $6,000 dollars for material he incorrectly ordered, or never bought at all--just pocketed our money. The subcontractor he'd hired stepped up to finish. We have no idea what happened with Mr. Hall. He just stopped returning calls or responding to texts and emails. We sent a registered letter--no response. We're now filing a MA HIC complaint.
Cleaned up everything. Really good job. Always on time.
Don is always on time and on budget. He offers a great price. He has done multiple projects for me and each was a job well done!
Joe Teti, who works for D. Hall Construction based out of Metro West remodeled my kitchen in Brookline. The prior tenants demolished the cabinets, floors and walls. With short notice, the kitchen was stripped down and remodeled. Existing kitchen was gutted and replaced with new windows, cabinets, counter tops and floors in a timely fashion and on budget. I love my kitchen and recommend them! Thank you!
