D3 Builders Inc.

D3 Builders is a Mashpee-based general contractor and roofing specialist, co-owned by David Richards III and Anthony Franze and described on its own site as a third-generation, Cape Cod-native family business. The Better Business Bureau accredits the business with an A+ rating since 2018 and lists it as started in July 2015; the company's Angi profile separately states 28 years of experience, a figure that doesn't obviously reconcile with BBB's 2015 start date — it may reflect the owners' personal trade background rather than the entity's age. One thing worth knowing directly: Massachusetts's own registry lists the company's home improvement contractor registration (No. 203317) as expired. BuildZoom and Houzz separately show an active Construction Supervisor license (#CS-101506) held by David Richards, though BuildZoom's own page is inconsistent about the expired number, showing it as both inactive and active in different sections of the same profile. Nineteen reviews across ten sources, from 2021 through mid-2026, are all five stars, and the specifics split fairly evenly between two kinds of work. On the roofing side, several reviewers describe D3 responding the same day, or immediately after a storm, to repair storm-damaged shingles and roofing — one reviewer called the team "quick, professional, timely" in the middle of a significant storm, and another said Anthony prioritized their repair before the next rain after a previous storm took their shingles. On the general-contracting side, reviews describe a 16-by-14-foot addition in Cotuit, a garage converted into an apartment for an aging parent, and — in a 2026 review — a complicated three-level addition in Waquoit that connected a new structure to an existing house, including a new septic system. A 2021 review described an even larger remodel that added a family room, primary bedroom, bathroom, closet and garage stall along with new roofing and siding. Reviewers consistently describe the crew, led by Dave and Anthony, as responsive, professional, and easy to communicate with, whether the job is a same-day shingle repair or a multi-month addition. For a Cape Cod homeowner needing roofing work or a home addition, D3's deep, specific review history is a real positive — but the expired state registration is worth asking about and resolving before signing a contract of any size.
