DANBURY CHIMNEY SERVICE

Had them come for a cleaning. They Said it needed a new part so we paid. It was not working as well so we thought it was the wood but a few weeks in the Chimney was building up smoke. They came to see what was wrong saying that the lining was messed up. We got a second opinion only to find out the part was the wrong size and when they pulled it out realized it had not been thoroughly cleaned. So much so they found rusted pieces from the broken part they had replaced, a flashlight, and a lot of soot. When we called back to ask them to swap out the part and fix the issue they said they only gave us the part and we installed it (tha is why we called them we know nothing about things like that). Then said it was a $20 part we had to replace. When we asked why they charged us $280 they said it was labor charges (cleaning was paid for separately but also not done correctly). Yet could not explain why they charged us labor if we were the ones who put it in or why we would pay them way more to do it if it was a !20 part. We just wanted the work we paid for done. Not even the cleaning refunded. We are lucky the house did not burn down because of their error. They have serviced the chimney for years and never said there was a problem but now says there are (nothing had changed but the work they did).

Please don’t waste your time calling to this company! They are irresponsible!!! They put me in the schedule for 10/09 and they didn’t show up and call back or apologize! Stay away from this business and save your time!

Stay away from this company! Their professionalism, responsiveness/communication, punctuality and most important their quality is the WORST I've seen from any company I have EVER worked with. They didn't show up on a more than one occasion, worked late into the night (maybe that's why our chimney looks horrible) and would just leave the job without any communication, always having terrible excuses. Would also leave a mess behind, lazy!! They should be embarrassed! Don't walk but run from this company!

Family business, extremely nice young men that came to sweep the chimneys. Their mother should be very proud of them.

Please stay away from this company, do not use them. My family hired them to repoint and re-grout an antique fire place from the 1700’s. The two workers smeared refractory cement throughout the entire wood stove, they didn’t repoint at all. When we called to complain the mother of the workers answered and gave us the run around. Long story short they completely ruined the fire place, they wouldn’t get their insurance involved and they didn’t try to resolve the issue or act in a professional matter at all. Please, please, please, don’t use this company.
