Gary Davis is the painter behind Davis Painting Company; on Houzz the company says he has served the greater Boston area for over 25 years. Houzz shows 5.0 stars from 72 ratings and 46 projects, and Google 5 stars from 8. In August 2026 a Houzz reviewer hiring Gary for the second time said he painted the kitchen cabinets, walls, living room, the hall and stairs, some of the trim and all the heater covers, and called his pricing extremely fair. In March 2026 another Houzz customer wrote that Gary was patient helping pick the right color for the feel they wanted in a dining room. In a September 2024 Houzz review, a homeowner had Gary paint the entire first floor of a historic home, patching and smoothing walls along the way and helping settle colors from room to room. A February 2023 reviewer had him paint kitchen cabinets that had been banged-up cherry, and said the result looked stained white and new. A 2021 Houzz customer described a month-long wallpaper removal and painting job that went well enough that they added another room, with the work space cleaned up daily. In a November 2020 review of a house on Plum Island, the customer said his time estimate was accurate, he adjusted the color lighter when asked, and liked that he does 100% of the work himself. In January 2020 a reviewer had Gary paint an entire condo in downtown Portsmouth. In July 2023 a Google reviewer said Davis Painting responded promptly to a quote request and offered suggestions to bring their vision to life.
“Meet Gary Davis of Davis Painting Company in Wakefield”
I found Gary of Davis Painting to be totally professional, trustworthy, neat and clean. He was meticulous in the treatment of my project as if it was his own. This is the second time I have used him and he does not disappoint. His pricing is extremely fair and he takes the extra step to go above and beyond. I highly recommend Gary for your future paint jobs. For your reference...Gary painted my kitchen cabinets, walls, livingroom walls, down the hall, up the stairs and the upstairs hall, some of the trim, and all the heater covers. I am thrilled with the finished product!
Phenomenal work and a true professional. Gary is reliable, trustworthy, and clearly takes immense pride in his craft. I especially appreciated his patience while helping me select the perfect color to achieve the specific 'feel' I wanted for my dining room. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
I can’t recommend Gary Davis enough as a professional painter and trusted advisor through the process. Gary did a phenomenal job to paint our entire first floor, inclusive of entryway, stairway, formal room, family room kitchen, and powder room. He has high attention to detail , patching and smoothing out necessary areas of my historic home, while painting with very clean lines and a stellar finished product. Gary is very thoughtful and creative, sharing his perspective that helped me finalize paint colors and flow from room-to-room, which can be very daunting with the number of paint colors and brands that exist today! He showed genuine care and patience around the decision making process to ensure I was comfortable with the outcomes. On top of this all, he’s a pleasure to have around the home- very trustworthy, professional AND friendly! I will plan to reach out to Gary again for my future painting needs!
