Frank Vitale

Frank Vitale is a Harwich builder whose customers describe him as the man who says when he will come and then comes: a 2015 reviewer noted he called several days ahead and arrived on the day, and two 2016 customers wrote that he did exactly what he said he would do. He trades as F.A. Vitale Building, says he has served Cape Cod homeowners for more than 30 years building new homes, additions and outdoor living spaces, and his Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (175192) is active. The written reviews run from 2014 to 2021, so the specifics are a few years old. The jobs are exterior carpentry and outdoor structures: in 2018, a homeowner described a new deck addition plus the old deck's rotted posts and railings replaced in a few days, calling him a master carpenter; in 2019 another had rot in siding and soffit repaired with the cleanup praised; a 2015 customer had rotted framing replaced and the siding reshingled, another a patio finished on time, and a 2017 customer got a wheelchair ramp built on short notice. A 2021 reviewer, the most recent, was pleased with the work despite rain delays. Neat sites and thorough cleanup come up repeatedly. Not everyone was happy. In February 2017, two one-star reviews said he "botched the job" on a door, with the customer hiring someone else to reinstall it, and a November 2014 reviewer called it a "get it done" business and would not recommend him for high-end interior finish work. Angi shows 4.3 from 21 ratings, 76 percent five stars and 14 percent one star, mirrored on HomeAdvisor; Porch shows the same 4.3 from 20. He is the right call for a deck, an addition, rot repair or exterior carpentry on the Cape. If the job is fine interior finish work, ask to see examples first, and get the scope and schedule in writing.
