Didato’s Oil Service sells home fuel and services the heating systems it feeds. On its BBB profile the company describes oil and propane delivery, furnace and boiler maintenance, and heating and cooling installs, and its website says it has been in business 78 years. A ctinsider.com article has described Didato's Oil Service of Middletown as a family-owned business. Its BBB page shows an A+ grade and accreditation. A recent Google customer whose furnace went out said the first tech cleaned out a soot build-up and made other adjustments, and a second tech came a few days later to check on things. When smoke came from under the furnace after the customer pushed the reset button, they called Didato's and waited a few days for a visit during a busy time. That tech spent time checking things out, cleaning more soot and replacing needed items, then waited to be sure it was heating. A recent customer who booked a cleaning wrote that the technician "was in, did his thing, tidied up, and was out." A 2025 customer said it was easy to set up services and maintenance plans with the company. A 2026 customer wrote that their family had used Didato's for 62 years until they sold the family homestead. A 2026 customer thought the charge for one hour of labor was a little much. A 2022 customer said the company made a delivery to their property without permission or a contract and got lawyers involved over a disputed charge. That 2022 customer later wrote that they settled with the company's lawyer and invoices for the difference kept coming. A 2022 customer wrote that they would not use the company again because of its customer service.

The bottom line for this experience is the determination of service folks to get a problem solved. Our furnace went out a few weeks ago and the first tech who came reported a soot build-up that he had to clean out and he made some other adjustments. It all worked fine. A second tech came a few days later to check on things and reported all was good, and it was. I had to leave town for a couple of days and when I returned and got in the shower, cold water came out again. I went downstairs and noticed a reset button on the front so I pushed it. the furnace roared to life, but smoke came from under. I shut it down in a hurry and called Didato's. It was a busy time for service folks so I had to wait a few days for one to come.. This fellow really spent some time checking things out, cleaning more soot and replacing needed items. It was good hour of work. When he was done, he got it going and waited be sure it was heating, and it was. I took a nice hot shower right after he left. Thanks to all the guys for their efforts.
