The most useful thing anyone has written about DiPietro Family Contracting is nine years old — and it is unusually specific. Writing in June 2013, a couple who had bought a condo in an 1852 house described hiring Tom DiPietro for a master bathroom taken down to the studs, then finding mid-job that the floor and ceiling support beams had been cut during someone else's earlier work. What they singled out was not the finish: it was being told straight what the problem was, and getting itemised cost descriptions so they knew what they were paying for. They hired him again for the kitchen. The company is a five-person LLC working out of 82 Washington St in Marblehead, with Jenn DiPietro as manager and her husband Tom running the jobs. BBB puts the LLC's start and incorporation on 6 October 2014 and calls it eleven years in business, though customers were writing about "DiPietro Contracting" as early as February 2013 and one described a job done in 2011 — the trading history runs longer than the company's paperwork. Houzz lists the work as general contracting weighted toward kitchens, bathrooms, additions and decks, covering Lynn, Salem, Beverly, Marblehead and Swampscott. All five reviews are five stars, and the set does not read as manufactured: the accounts vary in length, name distinct projects — a 15-year-old deck rebuilt in composite in a 2016 review, a brick fireplace enclosed with a gas insert fitted, a three-season porch turned into living space in a 2011 job, a custom bookcase — and the same owner-operator recurs across four years. A customer writing in April 2013 picked out the finish carpentry in particular, and said the job came in under budget and ahead of schedule. Two things to weigh before calling. The written record stops: the most recent customer account is dated 24 August 2016, so nothing describes how the company works now. And the credentials are unconfirmed — Houzz prints "License Number 85054" with no licence type and no issuing board, while "fully licensed and insured" and "EPA Lead Certified" sit under its self-reported Awards heading. That last one matters here, because one of the jobs described was in an 1852 building and federal lead rules apply to anything built before 1978. Its BBB grade is A+, on a profile that also states plainly it is not BBB accredited — two separate things. For a kitchen or bath gut in an older North Shore house this is a reasonable shortlist candidate; ask for references from the last year or two, get the licence number and type in writing, and check the lead certification against the EPA's own list before anyone opens a wall.

Two projects - one outside and one inside. All the wood on the 15 year old deck was replaced with composite. New bench seating was designed and constructed of composite. The old Trex decks and stairs were not replaced since they were in excellent shape. Inside, the fireplace and brick wall were enclosed, the. Chimney sealed and a gas fireplace installed. Beautiful new bookcase constructed,new recessed lighting, TV and sound system installed. The living room is nowlight and bright and all the old brick is hidden. Tom and his crew did an excellent job in a timely manner. All of his workers and subcontractors are first rate.

We bought a condo in an old historic home built in 1852 -- quite the fixer-upper. After getting several estimates for our first big project (the master bathroom), we hired Tom Dipietro. It was a complete demo down to the studs -- and on top of that we ran into a "little" surprise (i.e. the support beams for the floor and ceiling had been cut during previous work). Tom was always up front with what the issues were and how he recommended fixing them -- and we always received itemized & detailed descriptions of the costs so we knew exactly what we were paying for. Because of our great experience with DiPietro Family contracting, we subsequently hired Tom to do our kitchen (also a complete demo). No big surprises this time -- and were we able to come in extremely close to budget (only going over because we added a more complicated backsplash and new floor during the course of the project). Tom and his wife Jen are EXCELLENT to work with. Transparent, quick and EXCEPTIONAL work. We will use them again when we buy our next place!

We hired this contractor to open up our first floor and remodel our kitchen. The results were nothing short of spectacular. Tom the owner's willingness to listen, adapt, explain and work within our budget was great. His suggestions on the go all turned out well, and the project was completed within budget and ahead of time. I can't tell you how many people have given positive comments on the work, especially the finish carpentry. The attention to detail on that front is second to none. We are in the process of selling our home and their work has paid off and then some in terms of sale price. I would highly recommend Dipietro contracting to anyone looking for great results and an owner that will listen to what you want and then make it happen.

Total gut and renovation of kitchen, bathroom, mudroom, and new 4 seasons room. They did a fantastic job. Tom was very knowledgable, and easy to work with. He was always available and his attention to detail was outstanding. We were very pleased with the finished product.

Over the past 6 years, DiPietro Contracting has performed numerous updates and renevations to my house. The 2011 job involved turning a 3 season porch into living space. The work was completed in a timely, efficient manner. Tom custom built a bookcase to fit with the decor of the house. He was always thinking of new ways to maximinze the space available. Tom truely takes pride in his work. He strives to please the client. I would recommend hiring DiPietro Contracting.
