Mr. Handyman of Central MetroWest is the high-volume, long-running answer to a full punch list of small home repairs - 4.9 stars across 508 Google ratings, an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau, and 233 written reviews going back to 2021, most naming a specific technician on the crew. The company works out of the Ashland/Framingham area, and in a 2020 Reddit thread asking for contractor recommendations, someone pointed a Framingham homeowner to them for exactly this kind of general work. The last six months alone brought 15 reviews with nothing negative among them. Patrick replaced a sliding glass patio door with a competitive price and a follow-up call; separately he repaired water-damaged walls, a ceiling, and a door that "now looks like new," described as a perfectionist doing meticulous work. He also reattached siding high on a house and, finding time left over, washed windows the homeowner couldn't reach herself. Other technicians handled a full day's list of outside painting and patching, storm-damaged rake moldings, and grab bars installed across three bathroom showers, with accurate on-the-spot estimating and same-day add-ons showing up again and again. Specific, dated stories go back further too. In a November 2025 review, Jeff Hyde hung two heavy ornate mirrors and swapped a chandelier, coming back a second time once the right crown molding was found. In a January 2026 review, John replaced a lazy Susan a previous contractor had called difficult and "made it look easy." Also in November 2025, Pat was called in to fix a job a hardscape company had botched. In an April 2025 review, Tommy tackled a tricky, undersized retractable screen door and, without being asked, also fixed a dryer vent and swapped an exterior door handle. The complaints on record cluster around price and scope rather than workmanship, and they're worth knowing about. A 2022 review described being quoted $1,300 for trim repair, then billed $2,400 with no warning, calling it a scam. A 2023 review described month-long delays on a two-day job and a rude scheduler. A 2024 review flagged a nonrefundable $212 fee just to get an estimate, plus an hourly rate ($148) higher than expected for handyman work. And in an October 2025 review, a customer said a cat-door removal and drywall patch job was left half-finished despite an explicit 2.5-hour estimate going in. None of that shows up in the last six months of reviews, but it's a real enough pattern to ask about directly: get a firm, itemized estimate before work starts, and confirm what the initial visit fee covers.

Patrick did a terrific job of repairing my walls and ceiling after water damage, including a badly water damaged door which now looks like new. He is a perfectionist who does meticulous work and it was a relief to have his expertise repairing my home. He was a pleasure to work with, punctual, professional, and very helpful.
They showed up on time, worked thru the day and did an excellent job.
I used Mr Handyman Central Metrowest (Framingham) to replace my sliding glass patio door. They were fantastic. They were professional, on time, followed up, and gave a very competitive price without jeopardizing quality. Patrick, who came out to give the quote and install the door, is an expert and did great work. And Ethan who helped schedule the job was also great to work with. I would definitely recommend them!
Mr. Handyman has been so great to work with. They are punctual, courteous and very efficient.
I was happy with Alex performance in the work he did for my home. Put up outside Awnings which should of taken an hour . It was a bit disappointing that it took 4 1/2 hours. Cleaned porch glass windows which you had to take off the outside window to wash the inside of the glass that was taken off. Alex stated that he did put up Outside Awnings last week at another house so he stated he knows what needs to be done with mine awnings. The awnings that Alex did last week had no ropes to feed through to the arms & middle of the Awnings which was a big difference from the ones Alex had done the week prior We had some rain that didn't interfer to much which was a blessing & Alex's performance again was excellent. The price of the whole installation, was not what I was expected once the Awnings were completely up working as they should be. A 1/2 hour was knocked off due to our first conversation of meeting as Alex & I were chatting about what needs to be done along with Alex meeting my 10 year old Chihuahua which we both are animal people including our stories we chatted about. Great guy & definetly has a wonderful personality & ambitious about his job. I will have HMC back soon but funds are tight in this world today. Happy/a bit disappointing. Marybeth Girard
