Dobson Pools describes itself on Houzz as a family owned in-ground gunite pool design, construction and service company in Northwestern Connecticut, in business since 1968. A recent customer said things were great when the father ran the company and he built a technically challenging pool. That customer said that in the last couple of years the service was poor, they didn't want to do general repairs, and when the customer wanted an opening date, they cancelled the contract. A 2023 customer said Dobson had taken care of their pool for 10 years and that Radovan and John addressed any issues quickly. A 2022 customer said that when a heater broke over a long weekend, John came out first thing in the morning. A 2024 customer said everything was done on schedule by Devon and his team. In a 2019 review, a customer described a challenging pool site on sloping land, where they brought in crushed stone to reinforce the ground and support the pool and completed it on time and on budget. A 2019 customer said Dobson Pools built an 18' x 40' pool and the installation went smoothly and quickly. A 2019 reviewer who identified as a local building company in the Litchfield County area said they had hired, worked with and witnessed over 20 pools installed by Dobson Pools. In a 2013 review, a customer described an 18x42, 33,000 gallon salt water gunite pool installed in less than 10 days by a crew Jim Dobson runs. That 2013 customer said Dobson's prices were much lower than others in the area. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0661246, as active, held by Dobson Pools LLC.
