Dunham & Sons is the kind of electrical contractor customers call for work that has to be tidy, explained clearly, and finished on schedule. Based in Woburn, the company says it is locally owned and operated and has 16 years in business; Massachusetts records show electrician license 21942 is active with Matthew K. Dunham as holder of record. Its work spans residential and commercial electrical service plus ductless HVAC, with a stated service area across Woburn and nearby communities. Recent Google reviews repeatedly describe panel upgrades, mini-split and heat-pump installations, EV charging, lighting, generators, and repairs. Customers mention prompt communication, clean cable runs, careful cleanup, and detailed explanations; one May 2026 review describes a 26KW standby generator, surge protector, and ChargePoint EV charger, while other recent homeowners describe three bedroom mini-splits and a Mass Save rebate handled through installation. Google lists 4.9 stars from 57 ratings, and the written reviews are overwhelmingly positive. There is one clear counterexample: a November 2025 reviewer said the company promised it could do a job, then stopped responding. That complaint is specific enough to ask about scope confirmation and communication if a project changes. The BBB page gives Dunham & Sons an A+ grade but says it is not accredited. Dunham & Sons looks well suited to homeowners seeking an electrician for upgrades, charging, lighting, generators, or ductless comfort work. Before booking, confirm the exact scope, scheduling expectations, and which license holder will supervise the work.

This Company is fabulous. Responsive, Excellent quality work, trustworthy and easy to work with. Won't use anyone else
Jim and the team at Dunham and Sons installed 3 mini splits in the bedrooms on our second floor and they did fantastic work. They keep us so cool in addition to the central AC on our first floor that wasn’t quite getting upstairs. They also modernized several of our light fixtures and it’s made a huge difference. Highly recommend!
We hired Dunham&Sons to install mini splits in two upstairs bedrooms. From the initiate quote through installation, and submission of the Mass Save rebate they were responsive, helpful, and made the entire process easy. They answered all my questions, installed both units in less than a day, and made sure it looked as neat as possible on the outside.
Jim, Matt and team are superb. They are creative and look for solutions that work for homeowners. Highly recommend these folks!
