Earp Landscaping has worked out of 73 East Street in Middleton since 1980 — 46 years, by its Better Business Bureau file, as a sole proprietorship run by Douglas Earp with three employees. The BBB carries it formally as D.R. Earp Landscaping, with Earp Landscaping as an alternate name. The work described there leans hard into hardscape: patios, sidewalks and walkways, pavers, stone and brick, retaining walls under four feet, alongside landscape installation and shrub maintenance, for both homeowners and commercial clients. What almost nobody has done is write about a job. A single customer review sits on the Google profile, posted in March 2022 — and it is not about landscaping. A bystander describes watching two employees berate counter staff at a McDonald's in Amesbury, and rates it one star. It is a complaint about conduct in a fast-food line, from someone who was not a customer of the business. The BBB grade is A+, though the same page states the business is not BBB accredited; those are two separate things, not one endorsement. For a company this long-established, the useful move is to work around the thin paper trail: ask Douglas Earp for addresses of recent patio, walkway or wall jobs you can drive past, and for two or three homeowners you can call. Get the scope, materials and price in writing before any digging starts.

“Landscape (Laborer and Driver) - Earp Landscaping”
Just saw two employees at a McDonald's in Amesbury yell at the staff for like 10 minutes because they had to wait almost 30 seconds to be helped yelling into the kitchen. Real good look. Yelling at teenagers because you have poor time management skills really made you guys seem like great people. You can't get scrambled eggs at noon and sometimes coffee has to brew. Watching this made me want to call my parents and thank them for teaching me basic manners. -Just a customer trying to eat a BigMac.
