A dry well. That is the detail that sticks from EcoScaping's written record — a Lynn homeowner writing in October 2020 described asking for a walkway, a patio and a BBQ area, and getting a conversation about the water that had been running at the house for years instead. Luis and his crew dug a deep dry well, ran the downspouts into it, then built the patio and walkway, and, the customer noted, repaired the corner of a driveway another contractor had botched. That is the shape of this outfit: a Lynn landscape and hardscape contractor whose work runs from lawn mowing and mulching at one end to patios, pavers, masonry, retaining walls and fencing at the other, with snow removal in winter. Its own Houzz listing puts typical jobs anywhere from $200 to $30,000, which matches that spread. The company says it has been at it 22 years. Four customers have written about them, all in October 2020, and all gave five stars. Two of those accounts are substantial. One family described three years of repeat work — privacy and picket fences, a fire pit and patio, cement stairs down to it, a floor poured under the deck, stepping stones, plantings, and a retaining wall finished two weeks before they wrote — and singled out the owner's willingness to say when he thought an idea would not work. Another 2020 reviewer credited Luis with a backyard patio and built-in fire pit. Nobody has written anything since. The written history being six years old is the honest limitation here, and the reviews sit on one platform. On Angi the company is listed but has no reviews at all, and its Angi profile also states no free estimates and no warranties — worth confirming, since it differs from how most landscapers quote. Angi's own service-area list for them covers Lynn, Nahant, Swampscott, Salem, Peabody, Wakefield and Lynnfield; the Houzz list is far wider and includes Marblehead. For a patio, a retaining wall, a fence or a drainage problem in the Lynn area, the 2020 accounts describe exactly that kind of work done carefully. Ask for recent references, confirm they cover your town, and get the estimate terms in writing before they start.

They did a great job! They finished on time and everything looks great! The project was reasonably priced and completed to our expectations.

We have been working with this company for over three years and the work done entails projects such as installing a privacy fence in the backyard, a private and picket fence in the front yard, building a fantastic fire pit and patio, created cement stairs leading to the patio, installed a cement floor underneath the deck, installed stepping stones in the front yard, did landscaping with trees and shrubs, and the latest project completed two weeks ago is building a retaining wall near the patio. We couldn't be happier with the work! What we love most about the company is the great work that gets accomplished, the dedication, the friendliness of the workers and owner, and the fact that the owner does not hesitate to express his opinion if he thinks certain ideas may not work. This leads to a collaboration of ideas prior to starting the work, which avoids any possible dissatisfactions after the work is complete. We intend to continue finding more projects for this company to take on for us for years to come and we will continue recommending it to our friends, family and acquaintances.

I have used EcoScaping the last few years for all of projects. Most recently they have completed a backyard patio with built in firepit. Luis took all of our considerations into account and provided his own recommendations that resulted an outstaniding finished product. We couldn't be happier, we will continue to use and recommend EcoScaping for all lawn maintenance and projects.

I had Ecoscaping come look at a back yard project for a walkway and patio and a BBQ area. Luis was very nice and very knowledgeable. We discussed pulling the water away from my house which has been a long time issue. Luis and his crew dug a deep dry well in my yard and ran all the down spouts to the well and put in the most beautiful patio and walkway. They took great care not to disturb my flower beds and my beautiful lawn. Minimal rework was required. They also fixed the corner of my paved driveway by another contractor. We absolutely love the finished product. Their attention to detail was refreshing. I highly recommend Ecoscaping Landscaping for your next outdoor project.

What does a fence cost in Greater Boston?
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Ecoscaping Landscape & Construction. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Walk the line and pace it off — a pace is about 3 feet.
Estimated range
$4,050 – $7,950
Typical fencing project around $6,000
