EJ Chimney LLC is a chimney company that an r/Connecticut commenter picked because it would take on repairs rather than push a full rebuild: "I am using EJ chimney as they were the only contractor I could find that would take the time to do repairs and not a full rebuild." The company says it has 13 years in business. One recent Google customer has an old fieldstone chimney that other companies wanted to rip down for brick. EJ lined it with a code-approved thermocrete liner, and that customer has since used them to point the chimney inside and out and for cleanings, with Kevin or Eli usually on the job. The company's website describes Thermocrete spray coating as an option when a traditional liner isn't viable, sprayed in 3-4 layers over 1-2 business days. A 2026 customer said they came out the same week, on a Saturday, for a chimney sweep and minor repairs to corrosion in a heatilator box, using boot covers and tarps to keep the house clean. A 2025 customer hired the company to install a metal liner after upgrading to a high-efficiency boiler; that customer said Eli was the first to call back, the job came a couple of weeks after the end-of-October estimate, and his crew finished it in half a day. A 2024 customer needed a liner and cap for a new energy-efficient boiler and called the price very reasonable. A 2023 customer said Eli walked them through the assessment, repair, replacement and cleaning after a chimney fire, then checked back two weeks after the service. Booking can take patience: a recent r/connecticut commenter who had good luck with EJ thought they were pretty booked up for the year. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0650064, is active on the state registry. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 192538, is expired on the state registry. Its Rhode Island contractor registration, GC-43533, is expired on the state registry.
“Ive had good luck with EJ chimney this year but I think theyre pretty booked up already for the year”
“I am using EJ chimney as they were the only contractor I could find that would take the time to do repairs and not a full rebuild because "that wasnt worth their time".”
These guys are the best chimney company you will find! They are a smaller company that has that personal touch and actually cares about their clients. I have an old field stone chimney that 6 other different companies came to look at before I was lucky enough to find Eli and his crew. Every other company gave outrageous prices or wanted to rip the fieldstone chimney down for brick. EJ chimney reasonably lined my chimney with a code approved thermocrete liner that other companies don’t even have the license to apply. Since then I’ve used them to point my chimney on the exterior and interior of the house (most other companies won’t even call you back if you requested this) along with cleanings. They did magnificent work, Kevin or Eli are usually at my jobs and they are great! Are you sick of contractors making false promises, ditching your job at the end, or trashing your yard while they work there? I strongly encourage you to try this company! Polite, honest, people that are hard working straight shooters. I cannot say enough great things!
We have had the pleasure of working with Eli and his crew two times now. The quality of work is exceptional as is the service. I highly recommend this company.
Working with EJ Chimney LLC was a pleasure. They were highly responsive, coming out the same week I called, on a Saturday, to get the job done. Their team handled both a chimney sweep and minor repairs to corrosion in our heatilator box with care and attention to detail. They were professional, patient, kind, and respectful of our home, using boot covers and tarps to keep everything clean. Their pricing was very reasonable, and their service was excellent. I highly recommend them for their quality work and genuine care for their customers.
I hired EJ Chimney to install a metal liner in my chimney after I upgraded to a high efficiency boiler. I called a few chimney contractors, and Eli was the first to get back to me. He came out to the house to assess the scope of the work and gave me a very reasonable quote, which I accepted. He thought he could get it done by the end of October, but it ended up being a couple of weeks later than that, which shows how much in demand he is. The work was completed by his crew in half a day and I am very happy with the result. If you have any chimney related work, I would highly recommend EJ Chinney.
EJ Chimney did an incredible job at my home. From the first call to the final cleanup, they were professional, honest, and easy to work with. They inspected my chimney, explained exactly what needed to be done, and made sure I understood everything before starting. I would recommend them to anyone looking for work on their home and chimney
