Electric Improvements is a one-master-electrician shop in Haverhill, run by Daniel J. Ruiz, whose Massachusetts electrician license is active on the state registry. That verification is the firmest thing to say about them. The company describes itself as doing residential and commercial electrical work across New England — panel upgrades, rewiring, EV chargers — with a noticeable lean toward the smart-home end: Lutron Ra3 lighting control, motorized shades, landscape and LED tape lighting, doorbell cameras and thermostats. That is an unusual specialty for a small shop, and it is what would send most homeowners looking for them. The reputation side is thin. Google carries a 5-star average, but from only five ratings, and the review history runs 2022 to 2023 with nothing since. BuildZoom's profile lists the same Massachusetts electrical business license and gives the company a score of 90, while noting no customer reviews have been posted there. Five ratings is not enough to tell you how this shop performs on a large job, so treat the star average as a starting point rather than a verdict. Worth asking for references from recent work, particularly if you are hiring them for a whole-house rewire or a Lutron system rather than a service call. Good fit for a homeowner who wants a licensed electrician for smart lighting, shade integration, or an EV charger and is comfortable doing their own reference checks. Confirm the license number against the state board and get the scope in writing before work starts.

Dan is knowledgeable, punctual, and an overall great electrician to work with on any job. My customers have spoken highly of Dan and his work ethic when I have subbed out electrical work to him. If you are not using electric improvements…you are missing out on quality work.

So great! On time, professional, fair and accurate estimate. Ours was a simple, quick repair and he communicated clearly with time and cost estimate. Will for sure use him again. Also, was very kind to my dog. 🙂 Highly recommend

Dan was absolutely great. I had some electrical issues in my home I needed repaired and Dan was able to make it out the very next day. He and was very respectful and knowledgeable, and even gave me some advice to save money on a future project. I would recommend him to everyone.

Dan and his apprentice did a phenomenal job! They upgraded our electric service to a 200 amp service. They worked from 7am to about 9pm to make sure that we had our power back on. The project came in under budget. We had Dan install some outdoor outlets as well as a ring floodlight in our backyard. He is reasonable and professional. We’ll definitely use Dan for any future work and highly recommend him to anyone who needs electrical work
