Evan Jones Master Electrician LLC is an owner-run electrical contractor in Merrimack, New Hampshire, working out of 4 Harrington Drive under master electrician Evan Jones, with Leah running day-to-day operations since 2020. The company says it started in 2005 and now fields a team of seven licensed electricians, with a second base in Twin Mountain trading as EJME North. Evan G Jones holds an active New Hampshire electrician licence, number 11337, verified against the state registry. What homeowners hire them for is straightforward residential electrical work: panel and wiring upgrades, switches, outlets and fixtures, and the electrical side of additions and remodels. The written record is deep but dated — 17 ratings on Angi and the same set mirrored on HomeAdvisor, averaging 4.4 with 82 percent at five stars, and the accounts run from 2020 to 2023. Those reviews repeatedly name individual electricians rather than the company in the abstract: in a 2021 review a homeowner praised Eric and Johnathan on a $1,400 job, and in two March 2023 reviews Dave was credited with troubleshooting a transformer problem and with arriving the same afternoon a customer called. Pricing comes up as a plus in several of them — a 2020 reviewer had six separate tasks itemised and called every charge reasonable, and a March 2023 customer said a two-day job was finished in one to beat a storm at a price lower than expected. The most recent word comes from Reddit rather than the directories. A commenter described Evan Jones diagnosing and repairing a whole-house generator installation that a previous electrician had botched, and a second commenter said the business has deservedly taken off but that availability for home electrical work is often not there. Two low ratings sit against that record and both are about dealing with the office rather than the wiring. A July 2023 reviewer logged three weeks of unreturned calls and emails that ended with the owner cancelling the booked appointment, and a December 2020 reviewer wrote only that the owner was very rude. The Better Business Bureau grades the business A+. They are a sensible call for southern New Hampshire homeowners who want a licensed master electrician on panel, generator and fixture work. Confirm scheduling and a callback commitment in writing when you book, and ask which of the seven electricians will be on your job.
“Had some immediate family use him (he is too far away from us), but FYI his business has (deservedly) taken off, and his availability these days for home electrical is often not there.”
“Evan Jones at wiringisnotahobby.com is great. He fixed our situation after our first electrician, who shall remain nameless, screwed up our whole house generator installation and blew out a few expensive items. Mr Jones took one look and immediately knew what was wrong and repaired everything properly ”
This company wasted several weeks of our time without providing a sufficient apology or explanation. They initially scheduled service while asking in a voicemail if I wanted to base the estimate on the detailed specs in my email or if I preferred to have the owner walk through. I followed up within 2 business days to confirm the date at the end of July. Full timeline of unreturned calls, emails and texts from June 30 to July 19, ending: July 19, 7:55 p.m.: I received an email from the owner indicating he cancelled the appointment while being sorry that our communication has not met your expectations. I emailed the owner back right after and asked for clarification, but I never received one. I should note that this electrician has worked for me before. I was overall happy with the service, with some caveats.
Dave arrived on time, was polite and professional, and completed the work promptly. The price was reasonable, and I was happy they could send someone out the same afternoon I called.
The electrician Dave did a great job replacing light fixtures and changing out transformers - we hit a snag but he was able to troubleshoot to figure out and fix the problem - he is a really good electrician and I would recommend Evan Jones to anyone that wants electrical work done
Working with EJME was a wonderful experience! Evan was very friendly and pleasant to work with. We had a pretty big job for him to do and although we were expecting it to take 2 days, he worked it out to get all of the work done for us in 1 day to beat an impending storm. Work was done extremely well. Pricing was very fair and lower than we expected it to be. We will definitely be working with him again for future electrical needs!
Excellent customer service from start to finish. Electrician Eric and technician Johnathan were very professional and did an outstanding job. Nice to see young men practicing their trade so well. Highly recommend them without any reservations. Satisfied customer.
