Gallagher Electric is a family-owned contractor in Merrimack doing residential, commercial and industrial electrical work, Generac generator installation and service, and home security and automation across southern New Hampshire. Generators are the heart of it. A January 2024 customer had a 24kW Generac whole-house unit installed and wrote that the crew explained the options, the install process and how the system works. In an April 2023 review, a homeowner who had lost power three times that winter had a whole-house unit put in by an authorized Generac dealer, with a seven-year warranty attached because of a Generac promotion running at the time; another April 2023 customer had theirs hard wired to the house and mainlined to the gas. When the town and the gas company slowed an install down in a June 2025 review, John stayed in regular contact throughout. The everyday work gets the same treatment. A July 2026 customer who had lived with an improperly wired garage for two decades had it sorted in a third of the time they expected, at a price they called fair. A July 2024 homeowner had a generator installed and the old circuit-breaker box upgraded and relocated, with the crew arriving early and finishing inside the day. A December 2023 customer had a Tesla charger put in the garage, a June 2023 customer added interior and exterior outlets mid-job and had smart lighting set up to run through Google, and an August 2022 Angi reviewer had a panel taken from 100 to 200 amps with a smart management module and transfer switch fitted so a 14kW generator would do instead of a 16kW. Two things reviewers keep noticing: the cleanup — an August 2024 customer said they did not even leave fingerprints behind — and the absence of a pitch, with an August 2026 customer writing that John found the fault and did not try to sell upgrades. For a generator, a panel upgrade or the wiring problem that has been nagging for years, this is an easy call to make. Settle the hourly rate and any call-out charge up front — a 2012 reviewer felt the after-hours rate outweighed a simple fix — and ask whether a Generac promotion is running, since that is how one customer's seven-year warranty came about.
