The name that turns up in nearly every review is Rafael — homeowners describe him running the crew personally on drywall and demolition jobs, working alongside a background-checked partner named Norma Chavez. A June 2026 review sums up the pattern simply: "These guys were great! Came back to see if I could hire them again!" The older reviews fill in the specifics. In a 2025 review, a homeowner in a 130-year-old house describes the crew removing damaged paneling and installing new drywall and hand-built wainscotting around uneven walls and floors, while coordinating with an HVAC crew installing mini-splits at the same time. A 2023 Google review recounts a burst-pipe repair — the whole bottom half of a basement's drywall had to come out and go back in after a different company caused the damage — and calls the communication and finished work top notch. Another 2022 review describes a 24-by-24 garage with 13-foot ceilings and door rails mounted straight to the ceiling joists, a job that needed careful custom cuts to seal the drywall properly; the reviewer's wife specifically remarked on how clean the crew left the site. Thumbtack backs that pattern with volume: a 5.0-star average across 41 reviews, 58 hires and 48 projects shown over roughly seven years in business, all under the categories Demolition Services and Drywall Installation and Hanging. There's nothing negative in any of the six dated reviews spanning 2022 to 2026, though that history is a small number of detailed accounts rather than a high volume of recent ones, so it's worth confirming current scheduling and getting a written scope before booking. This is a fit for drywall repair, basement finish-outs and interior demolition work where careful, detail-driven finishing matters more than speed — homeowners with an odd-shaped room, a water-damage repair, or custom trim work are the ones whose reviews keep naming Rafael by name.
These guys were great! Came back to see if I could hire them again!
We hired EzChavez to remove some ugly paneling and replace it with drywall and decorative wainscotting. The team was incredible to work with. They completed the dryway flawlessly and did all the carpentry for the wainscotting by hand on site. They accommodated our very uneven walls and floors in our 130 year old home and also helped communicate with hvac workers that were installing mini splits in the same area. I highly recommend this team!
Rafael was great- put up drywall, trim and painted. Did a great job and was always on time and showed up. I wish other contractors had his communication skills!
Ralph and Norma from EZChavez were a delight to work with on our basement project. After a burst pipe required the whole bottom half of the basement drywall to be removed by a different company we hired them to put this back. Their communication and quality of work was top notch and I would without a doubt hire again.
Rafael and his Team were the best people for finishing our basement! They were on time every single day, respectful of our property and kept the noise to a minimum. They're attention to detail can not be matched! And his prices were very fair. They put up dry wall, made a half bath, painted and made custom columns around the steel posts! We are beyond happy and they exceeded our expectations of what our basement would look like! We are already talking about other projects we'd like to have them do and are looking forward to working with them again very soon! They will be doing all of our remodeling projects from here on out. Highly recommended! Thank you Rafael and EZChavez Construction TEAM!
