I scheduled a chimney inspection with Fcsb Masonry Contractor & Chimney Serv Ltd after noticing weak airflow in my fireplace. The technician, Robert, carefully inspected the chimney liner and surrounding masonry structure. He found soot buildup inside the flue and recommended a professional chimney cleaning. After the cleaning was completed, he also performed a minor chimney repair to strengthen part of the brickwork. The fireplace began functioning much better once the service was finished. I appreciated how detailed and professional the technician was throughout the visit. The service was efficient and handled with great care. I’m very satisfied with the overall experience. During the inspection he also found moisture buildup nearby and suggested mold removal services. Their mold remediation treatment resolved the problem and improved the cleanliness of the area.
Fcsb Masonry Contractor & Chimney Serv ltd performed an outstanding job at my residence in Branford. Kyle, our technician, demonstrated his expertise the moment he arrived. He conducted a comprehensive chimney inspection and found cracks requiring immediate fixing. I felt immense appreciation for his honesty and thorough explanations. They also thoroughly cleaned our dryer vent—it hadn't been serviced in years—and now the dryer functions much more efficiently. The insulation service for the attic they offered was similarly remarkable. My home feels cozier, and I anticipate noticing energy savings shortly. Their air duct cleaning made our indoor air significantly fresher as well. Kyle demonstrated professionalism and was diligent in safeguarding our floors and furniture. I strongly suggest this company to anyone in Branford seeking reliable and comprehensive home maintenance solutions
On Sunday, I had a carbon monoxide leak in my home. I found Chimney Sweep & Repair Experts through a Google Search. Set up a service call to have my chimney swept because the fire department and gas company determined that was the cause of the CO leak. Chimney Sweep sent out a technician from SB Masonry "a sister company" to do the job. The technician, came out and assessed the situation and determined I needed a chimney liner. He quoted me $5,600 for a liner, but would give me a discount if I gave him a deposit that day. I told him I needed to research what was going on and talk to my friends who are knowledgable in home repairs. I was told, I had until 8:00 to make a decision and give a deposit or the discount would not apply. I didn't give a deposit, the technician left my house without even cleaning the chimney so that I could at the very least get the gas company out to turn my heat/hot water/stove back on. Not only that, he left two ladders, one up against the house leading to my upstairs where my daughter and I sleep. Not very comforting. The next morning, I got a text that he was "extending the deal", to which I didn't reply. A few calls and texts later about picking up his ladders, I didn't reply because I was busy with a different chimney company. He showed up at the house to get his equipment. Still tried to convince me "he talked to his boss and could get me yet another discount". I said I wasn't interested in dealing with someone who would literally leave me in the cold because I wouldn't commit to a $5,000+ job on the spot. Another call, email and attempt at getting the job this time "with his personal discount" and I finally blocked the phone number. This technician tried to take advantage of a woman (and her daughter) who knows nothing about home repairs and was in a vulnerable situation with no heat, hot water, gas to cook, etc. and left without doing the simple job of cleaning the chimney, which is what I placed the service call for. I don't recommend this company. Only gave one star because it wouldn't let me post with zero.
Sean evaluated and repaired the water leak in our chimney with skill and expertise. He charged a very reasonable price, arrived on time, and described what needed to be done. He knew exactly what he was doing. We've already discussed him with our friends. Fantastic work, and I will definitely use Fcsb Masonry Contractor & Chimney Serv ltd in CT once again if I ever need chimney cleaning or repair again!
