A 2023 customer said they called Mike at Nutmegger Chimney Service after a different company attempted to scam them into a total chimney rebuild. That 2023 customer said he came out that day, thoroughly looked at the chimney, told them they did not need a rebuild or really any work done, and barely charged them for his time. A 2024 reviewer wrote that their chimney was built with cheaper brick in the 1980s and was starting to spall, and that multiple vendors had said it needed to be completely replaced. That 2024 reviewer said it needed only minor repairs and waterproofing, and that Mike saved them north of 10,000 dollars. The same 2024 reviewer said he calls back and answers texts. A 2025 customer said they asked Mike to inspect the chimneys in a newly purchased home, that he indicated they were not in need of any care, and that he refused payment for his time. A 2025 reviewer described a chimney repair done in 2020 at a fair price. Nutmegger Chimney Service holds 5 stars from 7 Google ratings and an A+ grade on its BBB page.
2020 Chimney repair. Great work. Fair price. Good person. Would hire again. Very honest. 2025 update: still very honest and ethical. Would continue to use and recommend.
We asked Mike to come and inspect the chimneys in our newly purchased home. He came today and indicated that they were not in need of any care. My husband offered to pay him for his time, he refused. An honest tradesman, don't hesitate to call him.
THE BEST IN TOWN! We had a chimney that was built with some cheaper brick back in the 1980's that was starting to spall. We work in the construction industry and knew that the chimney was structurally sound and just needed some minor repairs and waterproofing. We had multiple vendors tell us that the chimney was too far gone and needed to be completely replaced and again at this point in time, we knew that-that was not the case. Mike is honest, fair, straightforward, and easy to work with. In addition, he calls you back, answers your texts, and is overall reliable and dependable-which is hard to find today. At some point in the future we know that this chimney will need to be rebuilt, but until then, he saved me north of 10,000 dollars. I would highly recommend this company for anything chimney related.
Mike is the best.. He gives an honest assessment and won't overcharge you. His recommendations are backed by years of experience..
We called Mike after another company attempted to scam us into a total chimney rebuild. He came out that day, thoroughly looked at our chimney, told us we definitely do not need a rebuild - or really any work done, and barely charged us for his time. Mike is honest, knowledgeable, and kind. Highly recommend!
