FJ Tile inc

A homeowner waited eight weeks for the tile she had picked, and when it arrived Berto told her plainly it wasn't going to work in her shower, then helped her land on something that would. Saying the inconvenient thing before the thinset goes down is what customers in Plymouth keep writing about FJ Tile. Felisberto "Berto" Paiva runs the company out of Plymouth; its Better Business Bureau page lists him as president, gives the business an A+ and counts seven years in business. By its own description, FJ Tile installs tile, backsplashes, showers and LVT, laminate and cork flooring for homes and commercial spaces around Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Its Google page carries 5★ across 34 ratings. The jobs people describe are the finish work where a sixteenth of an inch shows. In a 2023 review, a customer who had chosen a herringbone glass tile — the kind that needs dozens of delicate cuts — wrote that the crew didn't flinch and set it exactly. Another 2023 customer had a bathroom tiled around a wheelchair-accessible shower and made a point of the site protection: plastic sheeting over the furniture, paper down on the floors. A 2024 homeowner stuck with leaking tiles from someone else's remodel said Berto fit the small job in and sorted the grout, the caulking and a few shelves while he was there. Berto is rarely the only name in a review. Jeremias, Claudio and Waldir all turn up as the people on site, and in a 2024 review a customer credited Claudio alongside Berto for a walk-in shower. One 2022 customer wrote that their house, with FJ Tile's work in it, ended up in Architectural Digest. Another wrote in 2021 that the backsplash still looked new two years on. Two things to sort out before calling. The written history is dated: the newest review on file was posted in August 2024, so ask for a couple of addresses finished this year and photos to match. And the listings disagree about where the business sits — Houzz and Google give 3 Highland Place, the BBB page 194 Standish Avenue, both in Plymouth — while its own site names Hingham as the service area even though the copy claims three states. Confirm they travel to your town before you schedule. For a shower, a backsplash or a bathroom floor where the cuts have to be right, this is a crew people hire twice. Settle the material with Berto early — he will tell you when a tile won't work.
