FJDM Wood Floors

I contacted FJDM to refinish the wood floors in an old cottage. They discovered that the original hardwood likely ran underneath the 50 year old kitchen linoleum which was covered by floor leveler, then covered by plywood, then covered by rolled vinyl. I had provided vinyl tile to replace the top layer of rolled vinyl but instead of taking that easier path they were willing to do the hard work to determine the condition of the original floor underneath. I got lucky and there was gorgeous original and perfect hardwood which they sanded and refinished with the rest of the house perfectly. Loved these guys. Their prices were reasonable and they were meticulous in their attention to detail.

How I wish we had hired FJDM to refinish our floor from the outset. The fellow we did hire bragged continually about his 30+ years of experience, complained loudly about his aching back and knees, and never worked more than 3 hr/day, those hours punctuated generously with smoke breaks and “rests.” Ultimately, I could have forgiven the laziness and lack of professionalism had the floor come out perfectly. Sadly, it was a full-on mess. By contrast, Francisco of FJDM was always professional in his dealings with us. He was punctual and pleasant. On arriving at our home, he would greet us cordially, and then get to work immediately. He was meticulously neat such that there was little to no dust for us to clean up throughout the house. Francisco even went so far as to clean the former refinisher’s dust from the windows and woodwork. I was deeply impressed by this man’s attention to detail and his insistence on doing a job as well as it could be done. Do not hesitate to hire FJDM for your floor refinishing needs. He will not disappoint!
