Every job with Flock Construction's name on it in Boston-area permit files is commercial: a lab sink installation at 805 Columbus Ave, a cafe remodel in the same building, a Newton retail dispensary conversion. This is not a kitchen-and-bath outfit. The company works out of 36A Wheeler Street in Pepperell and says it was founded in 2017 by Ann Marie Polaneczky, who still runs it. It describes itself as woman-owned and as a registered Women Business Enterprise through the Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office, and puts Polaneczky's own OSHA-30 certification forward as part of its safety pitch — all of that is the company's own account of itself. What exists in writing about the work is permits, not opinions. BuildZoom's profile lists 11 commercial building permits filed between 2018 and 2023 across Boston, Roxbury Crossing, Newton, Watertown and Fitchburg, ranging from a $1,000 planter job to a $401,338 interior gut on Belvidere Street, and scores the company 110 — the 96th percentile of 139,240 Massachusetts contractors. Customer reviews are another matter: its Angi page carries none at all, and neither does BuildZoom. Two things are worth raising on a first call. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 190354, is expired at the state registry, and BuildZoom shows that same number as cancelled — so for work on a house, ask what registration currently covers it. BuildZoom separately lists a construction supervisor license, CS-111885, as active; that is the directory's listing rather than a confirmation, and it is quick to check with the state yourself. OSHA's inspection database also carries an inspection of Flock Construction, Inc.; an inspection on its own says nothing about the outcome, but it is a fair thing to ask about. For a commercial fit-out — retail, restaurant, office, brewery, medical, educational, historic — this is a small firm with a real permitted history you can look up. For a home project, start with the registration question and ask for references directly, because there is no public review history here to lean on.
