Burst pipes in a cold snap are the kind of call Foley's Plumbing and Heating gets. A recent customer said that when a severe cold spell burst their pipes and caused major leaks, the company came out right away to fix everything, and that the owners let them split the invoice into three monthly payments while they were going through cancer treatments. The company describes its reach as Fairfield County, Connecticut, "from Greenwich to Newtown, and most places in between," and says it has been in business 16 years. Its BBB page shows an A+ grade, and Google shows 4.6 stars from 38 ratings. A 2024 customer said a technician named Ryan traced water pooling in their basement to one leaky connection near the hot water heater, told them it was just that one connection, and fixed it. A 2024 customer said they made one call about a leaking hot water heater, a new heater arrived a few hours later, and it was put in not long after. A 2024 customer said the company had handled hot water heaters, furnace repairs and preventative maintenance for them over the years in multiple homes. A 2024 customer contacted the company for a quote on removing an oil tank and converting an oil boiler to propane and called the pricing competitive. A 2023 customer said Jim Foley came by to quote a like-for-like replacement of a jet well pump more than 30 years old, after other places wanted to install a more expensive submersible, and that the price was the lowest they got. A 2025 customer said a leaky shower was correctly identified and repaired quickly once the part arrived, but was charged a $229 one-hour minimum plus an additional $114 for a 5–10 minute return visit to install the cartridge, and said they would not use the company again. A 2022 customer said the company made a kitchen sink drain issue worse after charging $550+ for the first visit, and that another company fixed it for half the price.
I have used Foley’s Plumbing and Heating numerous times over the years as they are the absolute best with great service and top-notch employees. Whenever I have needed their services, it’s often been a crisis situation and they come over immediately to save the day! When we had that severe cold spell in early February, I had burst pipes that led to major leaks. If Foley’s hadn’t come out right away to fix everything, I would have had very serious and costly home repairs. Their employees are all such knowledgeable, skilled and efficient experts who are all super nice too! Then, on a personal note, I have been going through terrible financial hardship due to cancer treatments and being unable to work for some time. The owners at Foley’s allowed me to divide their invoice into 3 monthly payments which has been an enormous help to me. I am forever grateful for their kindness, compassion and generosity in doing something so extraordinary. I give Foley’s 10 Stars in every category!
Had a plumbing emergency at my business today, and Foley’s was able to help me instantly. So thankful for their kind staff, highly recommend!!
They have always been extremely good and quick with our needs. I am impressed by their professionalism and helping us keep every aspect of our plumbing working on this old house from our waste lines, water pump to our water heater that died on us one cold winter morning (turning around a new one in hours). Just fantastic service the six years we've been using them!
The technician who came out was professional, courteous, and on time, so I want to give credit where credit is due. The issue with my leaky shower was correctly identified, and the actual repair was done quickly once the part arrived. Unfortunately, the company’s pricing policy is what makes this a 3-star experience. I was told up front about a one-hour minimum charge of $229, which I accepted. The first visit lasted about 15–20 minutes, and when they returned to install the cartridge that needed to be ordered (a 5–10 minute job), I was charged an additional $114 for labor. Altogether, I paid $343 for labor alone for a combined 30 minutes of work. At no point was I warned that I’d be charged beyond the minimum for the follow-up, especially given how short both visits were. When I called to ask about it, I was told this was simply “policy.” I’ve never encountered a billing practice like this with other service companies, and it leaves me feeling overcharged and frustrated despite the technician doing a great job. Because of this, I would not use their services again.
We have had consistently great service from Foley’s with our most recent project another example. Timely, personable, clear communication and expertise.
