G.T. Home Service is a Newton handyman and home-maintenance outfit that its site says Gilberto founded in 2010, doing handyman repairs, cleaning and maintenance work, and remodeling and exterior projects around Greater Boston. Its two Google reviews on file, both from 2025, tell very different stories. In an October 2025 review, a customer called Ulises and his team thorough and prompt, describing them as experts who solve and fix problems in one visit — a straightforward, satisfied account. In a July 2025 review, a different customer describes something far more serious: their elderly mother, on a fixed pension, was sold a system with a $40,000 loan for work the reviewer says should have cost around $28,000, leaving her anxious and facing the possibility of selling her house to cover it. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, verified against the state registry. That financing complaint is serious enough to ask about directly and in writing before signing anything — get a fixed, itemized price and confirm exactly what financing terms (if any) apply before a parent or older relative agrees to a job here.
