Five written reviews, all from 2025, and they name the same person doing the work: André Lima. The jobs they describe are the ones that need a careful hand: rotting deck stairs pulled out and rebuilt, shiplap run up a foyer wall in a house where nothing is level or plumb, a peeling ceiling scraped, filled, leveled, sanded, sealed and painted before a home went on the market. CWB General Contracting works out of Newton and lists a service area running through Wellesley, Needham, Brookline, Cambridge, Waltham, Arlington, Somerville, Medford, Lexington, Watertown, Natick and Dedham. The site says André founded it in 2009 as a painting company and grew it into full-service general contracting — bathroom remodeling, kitchen renovation, interior painting, decks and full home renovations — and that he personally oversees each project from consultation through the final walkthrough. Its Thumbtack profile carries a 5.0 from 17 ratings, 10 hires and a background-checked owner; the site lists MA Registered Contractor #220415. Those accounts agree on the practical parts. An August 2025 customer had rotting beams around the garages replaced with PVC and painted to match the rest of the trim, and noted that André drove out to give the estimate for free, went and bought the materials, and came back to do the work when he said he would. A July 2025 customer with rot in the deck stairs said he got back to them right away, started quickly, and put in two solid days of replacement, repair, painting and staining. Another that month hired him for a broken wooden shed door and a leaky washing machine pipe, and called him punctual with clear, transparent pricing. The painting background still shows in the work. In a May 2025 review, a seller getting a house ready for buyers described him taking a peeling ceiling through the whole sequence — scraping, filling, leveling, sanding, sealing and painting. For rot repair, trim and finish work, and the punch list before a sale anywhere around Newton, this is a shop where the owner is the one on the job. Andre did a fantastic job. The job was replacing several rotting beams surrounding our garages with PVC and painting to match the rest of the trim. He drove out for free to provide an estimate, went out to purchase materials, and came back to do the work exactly when he said he would. He was efficient and careful and did exactly what we asked. He charged us his cost for the materials, and for labor charged exactly what he had estimated. I would happily hire Andre again.
Andre did an incredible job! We hired him to install shiplap on the wall going up our stairs in our foyer. He worked quickly and diligently, paying attention to detail. Our house is VERY old, and nothing is level or plumb, but this didn't cause any issues for Andre - he made sure everything looked perfect and we are so happy with the final product! Will definitely recommend him, and hire him again!!! TY Andre!!!
I highly recommend Andre. He worked on our deck stairs, where we had some rotting and repairs needed. He got back to me right away, began the project quickly, worked hard for two solid days on replacement, repairs, painting, staining and did an outstanding job.
I worked with Andre to fix some small things around the house (broken wooden shed door, leaky washing machine pipe). Andre was punctual; provided clear, transparent pricing; and did quality work! I highly recommend Andre for your home repair needs!
I needed some pre-home sale cleanup - so several small things that didn't get done while we lived here but might be off putting for buyers. Andre did an excellent job especially on a peeling ceiling, with scraping, filling, leveling, sanding, sealing and painting. He came out to view, provided an estimate on the spot and started as agreed. He covered everything with plastic to keep the dust down and cleaned up what escaped. Pricing was fair and work completed on schedule. I would not hesitate to use his services again and heartily recommend.
