GA Windows and Siding takes on broad exterior work from its Oxford base, including windows, siding, roofing, doors, and decks. The company says it has more than 25 years in business and serves residential and commercial customers across Central Massachusetts, while Angi describes a Worcester-area pro with 20 years of experience. The written Google history is small and divided. In a September 2025 review, a homeowner praised Gary and his crew for windows, siding, framing, roofing, flooring, doors, trim, cabinets, and paint, calling the price fair and saying Gary returned after payment. Three one-star reviews from 2023 through January 2026 describe rudeness, disagreements over materials and customer requests, alleged permit misrepresentation, unanswered calls, and a dispute over siding and downspouts. The older complaints deserve specific attention before a large project. A 2023 homeowner said a multi-part exterior job became difficult after disagreements over Alside versus CertainTeed materials and coordination with a mason; another 2023 account alleged that a permit had been represented as pulled and that calls went unanswered. In a 2023 review about work completed in November 2022, a Watertown homeowner said the siding and downspouts initially looked satisfactory but later raised concerns about the finished work and follow-through. The Massachusetts registry verifies home improvement contractor license 180467 as active for G.A. Siding & Windows Inc. BuildZoom reports 35 projects and a score of 91, but also carries an inactive license number, so confirm the exact license and project permits directly. GA Windows and Siding may fit homeowners seeking windows, siding, gutters, or related exterior work; get materials, permit responsibility, sequencing, payment milestones, and callback expectations in writing before signing.
Very rude disrespectful people. Do not recommend
Hiring Gary was one of the best decisions I made with my new house! He has done everything he said he would do and more. He gave me a fair price, and didn't nickel and dime me. His crew is professional and knowledgeable, he stands by his work, shows up when he says he will, is easily reachable, and even came back after he cashed the check. I initially hired Gary to install my windows, siding, framing and roof. He asked if he could give me a quote for flooring, doors, trim, cabinets and paint. I was reluctant because I didn't know him, and I would be putting a lot of faith in someone I didn't know. I am glad I did! I am now talking to him about another project.
I hired Gary because he was recommended by an acquaintance. He was hired to install new construction windows, siding, a side entry garage door, gutters and downspouts, and new railing in the deck. He provided me with a quote using Alside Windows even though I said my home already had some new windows and they were Harveys. For the siding, I wanted Certainteed, but he wanted to use Alside. He was not respectful of a customers requests. I advised him that new masonry (stones) were being installed and he needed to work with the mason on determining who starts first. Mason was to start first and Gary was only to install one window and the door to start because the stone work was to go around them. He ordered the side entry door wrong, 3 times - wrong color and wrong size. The front window was heavily damage, but he installed it anyway. He ordered a replacement, it was damaged, but he installed it anyway. Gary was fired. He appears to have two "helpers" and they do all of the work. No safety equipment was used. No jacks no scaffolding. Nails were left all over the property and I now have a damaged tire. I fired Gary. I demanded 3/4 of the deposit back. His check took 9 days to clear because, according to TD Bank, there was immediate hold on the check because of Gary banking practices. I have since tried to get the remaining windows on the property returned. He and his supplier, Alside in Pawtucket, must be working together because they are both evasive and uncooperative. Upon my new contractor inspecting the windows, we found the extension jams to be ridden with mild and insects and one of the large windows is bowed. These windows were delivered and left outside for weeks. Gary palmed the supplier. Gary constantly blames everyone else and does not take responsibility. Gary was frequently not available because he was "away". Now I am fighting to get the rest of my money back. STEER CLEAR! Gary is now getting sued along with his supplier.
Horrible owner and will take your money and will never return your calls. Gary told us a permit was pulled and he lied to us. DO NOT USE THEM.
GA siding installed siding on two walls in my house in Watertown, and replaced old downspouts. This was in November 2022. Originally downspouts were not part of the scope, and one GA Siding worker said that in Home Depot they have only white and dark brown. I agreed to buy white downspouts, although grey was a better match my house color. The job took 1 1/2 days for two guys. Initially everything seemed satisfactory, the building looks nice, new downspouts were installed, and all major debris was removed, so I paid $8000 for the job plus $40 for downspouts. The next day I went to Home Depot for something else, and happened to come upon the isle with downspouts. To my surprise there were 3 colors there, one of which was GREY! which left me scratching my head trying to understand the reason why was I told a lie by that GA Siding worker? In the following couple of days I started finding roof nails on the ground, mostly in my driveway, and some in the garden. But all of the above was nothing compared to the news I received from tenant upstairs: a nail is protruding through the wall of the bathroom, puncturing the tile and encroaching into the shower space. This was alarming because now she is risking injury every day with that rusty nail next to her face in the shower. Initially I considered addressing this predicament in the same way as I addressed those forgotten nails on the ground, which is do it on my own without bothering Gary Apher, since he mentioned several times he has a long drive to come here. However I had to reconsider, because how would I reach 2nd floor height from the outside, and how would I know the way to secure that siding so it doesn't fall off after removing the nail. So I reached out to Gary Apher and suggested that he sends someone to remove the nail from the shower wall, and repair the nail damage to the tile. I said this was urgent because the person upstairs is risking injury every day with that rusty nail next to her face in the shower. I called him and texted, and called and texted for days and weeks, but didn't receive any response. He was very responsive in the days leading up to end of the project. But as soon as he received $8040, Gary Apher went off the grid, and refused to return my calls and texts. I was very nervous about the risk of injury to my tenant, and finally contacted his friend Mike. Only after Mike's intervention then did I receive a response from Gary Apher. Unfortunately it was not what I was hoping for. He refused to take responsibility and wouldn't participate in repairing the damage. For the above reasons my recommendation is against hiring GA Siding for your project. Falsely stating that grey color downspouts are not available tells me that pleasing the customer is not among his priorities. Leaving behind nails in people's driveway tells me he doesn't care if customer's car gets a flat tire. Puncturing the bathroom tile from the outside is a mere unfortunate event, however I would expect from a reputable professional to acknowledge the problem and take action to address, especially when knowing that it could cause injury. But you are not going to get that from Gary Apher: he is the kind of person who takes your money, then goes off the grid to hide and doesn't stand behind his work.
