Gardner Moving & Storage says it has provided moving and storage services since 1887, and lists packing, moving, unpacking and storage as its work. A recent Google customer said the movers showed up short one man, and a temp showed up an hour later. In the end, that customer wrote, a statue got chipped and a mahogany highboy took a big gouge; the insurance the movers carried did not nearly cover the repair, and the customer said they were overcharged. The same customer wrote that the owner said the move should have been supervised. A 2024 customer described a move and storage of furnishings that Carolyn's team handled over four days in 90° heat, and said their concerns were addressed in a calm and positive way. A 2025 Google reviewer wrote not about a move but about the company's property, saying they had to contact the blight officer multiple times about its upkeep.
The movers showed up short one man. They tried to secure a third party for which I was paying. An hour later a temp showed up who had never worked for this company. They got to work with the oldest man who Stayed on the truck packing it most of the time.He had given instructions but did not oversee the work being done. The other employee was polite, strong and an excellent worker. The temp stood around a great deal of time. I worked harder. In the end, a statue got chipped a few minor scratches, and a big gouge in a mahogany highboy. The insurance they carried did not nearly cover the cost to have a new piece of mahogony moulding made, stained to match and replaced. It took twice as long for them to move my stuff as it did another company to move me in. Not only was my beautiful piece of furniture gouged but so was my pocketbook. Even though the owner asked about how that happened and stated that move should have been supervised because it was a substantial piece of furniture I was overcharged.
The embarrassment that is Gardner Moving and Storage to the local community. The fact that I have to contact the blight officer multiple times just to get them to look after their property is beyond frustrating. What about the run-down dilapidated abandoned building that has wood boarded over every window which sits as the focal point for their entire property? Or the way that once every two months when they finally cut their grass, they don’t pick up any litter but instead blend it up and scatter it across the entire street. Even then, the man cutting the grass draws a hard line at the property line and refuses to cut anything further, even though his neighbors cut his grass and leaf-blow his property for him (especially in the past). The neighborhood is sick and tired and this run down dilapidated business existing yet contributing absolutely nothing to their neighbors. Be better people Gardner Moving and Storage, and get rid of the sad eyesore that is your property. Or, move down by the transfer station so you’d fit in better.
Gardner Moving and storage deserves heartfelt praise and appreciation for the outstanding service provided during our recent move and storage of furnishings. Carolyn’s team demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism, managing the entire process seamlessly over four days in 90° heat. Their hard work, efficiency, and positive attitude under challenging conditions were truly commendable. Thank you for making what could have been a stressful experience smooth and hassle-free. My numerous concerns were addressed in a calm and positive way which was reassuring to my entire family.
