Bill Gatt's business is old floors. In a May 2022 review, a homeowner described 35-year-old boards worn down by dogs and dragged furniture coming back looking new; a June 2022 customer said their 90-year-old floors were restored and the job was finished by the end of the week. The hardest job in the write-ups belongs to a December 2021 customer who uses a wheelchair: solid wheels had taken the finish off their first-floor four-inch red oak, and one room had pet urine stains. Bill and his crew got the wheel marks and the stains out. In an April 2020 review, a homeowner who called Gatt Floors after another company no-showed said their 25-year-old wide pine looked new afterward. Price comes up as often as the finish. A May 2022 reviewer said Bill's number beat the two other quotes they had; a March 2020 customer called the price fair and the men professional. HomeAdvisor lists dust-free hardwood sanding alongside wood flooring refinishing, commercial refinishing and carpet installation and repairs, and shows a 4.8 average across 172 ratings; on Google the company sits at 4.4 across 11 ratings, with three February 2026 reviewers crediting the sanding and refinishing and the clean work. One account runs the other way. A September 2021 HomeAdvisor review, rated 1.5 stars, says Bill Gatt was unresponsive and cancelled twice before the job started, and that he damaged the customer's floors; HomeAdvisor's page notes the company disputed that account in its own response. A December 2022 customer describes something in between — flaws on the first attempt, the crew back twice, and everything fixed once they raised it. If your floors are worn, stained or scratched and you want them sanded and refinished rather than torn out, that is the work these customers describe, at a price several of them called fair. Nail down the quote, the samples and the start date in writing before the sander shows up, and ask how callbacks are handled if a spot needs a second pass.
