Giles Woodworks describes itself on its website as a full service custom cabinet and furniture manufacturer serving both commercial and residential needs, with everything it designs and builds fabricated and finished in its Milford, New Hampshire facility. The website says the business has 10 years in business. In a 2024 review, a customer said Chris Giles built several pieces of fine furniture from Red Oak for them, including an audio tower, a computer desk, a telephone desk and a large TV console, and called them "beautiful pieces." In a 2020 review, customers who had remodeled their kitchen in 1991 wrote that they wanted a cabinetmaker to take out the cabinet above the space they had allowed for a refrigerator and replace it with something shorter that still looked good. In that 2020 review, they said Chris Giles asked for additional photos and measurements, quoted an acceptable price to build a new cabinet with doors that matched the rest of the kitchen, came out to remove the old cabinet, had them visit his shop to verify the color match, and returned a week later with his daughter as assistant to install the new cabinet. The same 2020 review says he was able to match the doors exactly and that you would never know the new cabinet wasn't part of the original installation three decades earlier.

Chris Giles built several pieces of fine furniture from Red Oak for us. These included Audio Tower, Computer desk, Telephone Desk, and a large TV Console. beautiful pieces.
When we remodeled our kitchen in 1991, with semi-custom cherry cabinets, the space we allowed for a refrigerator was, we hoped, big enough for any future replacement. The cabinet above was 67 inches from the floor. We never dreamed that almost 30 years later almost every fridge on the market was over 70 inches tall, and the one we wanted was 71-1/2 inches. What we wanted was a cabinetmaker to take out the existing cabinet and replace it with something shorter but that still looked good in the space. One woodworker we contacted said he couldn't take the job, but recommended Giles Woodworks of Milford. Chris Giles asked for additional photos and measurements and quoted us an acceptable price to build a new cabinet (now the full width of the opening), with doors that matched the rest of the kitchen. He came out to remove the old cabinet, had us visit his shop to verify the color match, then returned a week later (with his daughter as assistant) to install the new cabinet. To say that we are thrilled and delighted would be an understatement. You would never know that the new cabinet wasn't part of the original installation three decades earlier. He was able to match the doors exactly, and the wood and colors also match perfectly. At every step of the process, Chris Giles was professional and made us confident in his abilities. (And yes, he wore a mask when he was in our home, at our request.) We highly recommend Giles Woodworks for your custom woodworking needs.
