Stone and brick underfoot is what Gnome gets hired for. A 2025 customer said Gnome completed a long granite walkway with lots of steps on the front of their house, and that the fixing of the stone walls on the sides of the stairs left them better than they were originally. That 2025 customer said the team was on time, careful and precise with all measurements, and left the place spotless; they had also hired Gnome for a small walkway the year before. On its Houzz profile the company describes itself as a full service Maine company that has followed a personal code since 1977, covering landscape design, construction, maintenance and masonry. On the Better Business Bureau it describes itself as a subsidiary of Shady Lane Farm, Inc. Its own website says it has been in business 3 years. In a 2014 Houzz review, a customer said Gnome had done all of their work for four years: landscape design, brick walkways and a patio, mowing and maintenance, and snow removal. A 2013 customer said Gnome and two other landscaping companies quoted a walkway and patio, and Gnome came back with the best price and a plan that fit the house's style; that 2013 customer described the brick as laid so precisely that the work spoke to that of an artist. A 2013 customer described re-landscaping a house whose front faces a golf course, where visitors arrived at the back. That 2013 customer said Anne at Gnome created a design that leads people around to the front of the house, and that Gnome installed a large gazebo near a tennis court, built a patio with stone walls, added stone pillars at the start of the driveway, addressed drainage and excess water issues, and regraded the driveway.
We recently just had Gnome complete a Granite walkway on the front of our house. Very long and lots of steps. I was hesitant to change because I liked our previous stone but wasn't really made for Maine weather. The new walkway that Gnome did is beyond beautiful. Even the fixing of the stone walls on the sides of the stairs are better than they were originally. The team that worked on it were on time, careful, precise with all measurements, easy to work with and talk to, adjusted to any of our needs and left the place spotless. We also had them do a small walkway last year and felt the same way. Highly recommend them to everyone.
Gnome Landscapes has done all of my work for four years. Landscape design, beautiful brick walkways and patio, mowing and maintenance, and snow removal. They are a pleasure to work with - always courteous and going above and beyond expectations.
My husband and I had Gnome and two other landscaping companies come to give us a quote for our desired walkway/patio. Gnome came back with the best price and with a plan that really adhered to our style and our house's style. The landscapers who came were entirely lovely, polite and friendly. They worked hard and meticulously, I called my husband at one point to describe the laying of the walkway as the work spoke to that of an artist, so precisely was the brick layed. It was an absolute pleasure having Gnome do our patio and walkway, everyone we worked with there was helpful and patient and the end result is a very beautiful walkway and patio that we are most pleased with! We will most certainly be recommending them to anyone who will listen!

We re-landscaped a 12 year old 4700 sq foot house that we had purchased the summer before. The front of the house faces a golf course and when you drive up to the house, you are approaching it from the back, which is unusual for this area. No one knew what door to approach to enter the house. Anne at Gnome created a beautiful design that leads people around to the front of the house. The driveway, stonewalls, and plantings are so beautiful that it takes our guests a long time to arrive at our front door from their parked car because they stop and admire everything. Gnome also installed a large gazebo near an existing tennis court and created a beautiful patio with stone walls in front of the gazebo. They added plantings around the tennis court to improve the area between our tennis court and our neighbor's back yard. Gnome expanded and added to the planting area along our driveway creating privacy for us with plants. They also added stone pillars to the beginning of our driveway that mark where our property begins and the public road ends. Additionally, gnome tweaked the existing gardens around the rest of the property, addressed drainage and excess water issues, and regraded our driveway. In summary, Gnome solved a lot of problems for us in a beautiful way. People remark to us all the time about how beautiful our property is.
