Good Home Property Inspections does home inspections. Its website's About text opens: "As someone who's bought, sold, (...and built, and renovated) several houses over the years, I am very aware of the impacts a home inspection has on the lives of both buyers and sellers." A local news site, harpswellanchor.org, has described the business as one that thrived from the start. A 2026 customer said Scott was helpful and informative, gave tips on work that needed doing around the house, and charged very reasonable rates. A 2025 customer said Scott walked them through the entire home and, in the weeks after the inspection, connected them with contractors for issues he had identified. A 2024 customer said Scott brought them around the house to point out specifics and answered all of their questions clearly. The work goes past the inspection itself. A 2022 customer said they used the company for their home and their church facility, calling Scott their go-to for home inspections, air quality testing and water quality testing. A 2022 reviewer wrote that he has his own lab for water testing, so there was no waiting a week or more for results. A 2024 customer who gave three stars said it was the least exhaustive inspection they had seen, with no thermography at all, and that after taking possession they found much that should have been readily apparent had been missed in the report.
“He started a business, Good Home Property Inspections, and it thrived from the start.”
I would highly recommend Scott for home inspections. He was very helpful and informative. Polite, friendly, punctual, knowledgeable. He gave me tips on how to do some of the work that needed to be done around the house. Very reasonable rates too.
I highly recommend Scott for home inspections. He was very thorough and took the time to walk us through the entire home and answered all our questions. He has gone above and beyond in the weeks since the inspection to connect us with contractors and to recommend paths forward for address several issues with our house that he identified during the inspection. He is knowledge and well connected with a range of contractors in the Midcoast region and beyond. Thank you for everything, Scott!
Having bought and sold many properties over the years, I am qualified to say this is the least exhaustive inspection I have seen. No thermography at all. As I am a certified level two thermographer by way of FLIR, I can say there was no excuse. After taking possession, I was very disappointed in how much should have been readily apparent and missed in his report.
Scott took the time to thoroughly explain what his inspection report would highlight and brought me around the house to point out specifics. He answered all of my questions clearly. I appreciated his humor in what was an overwhelming new experience for me.
As a realtor I always need a reliable Home Inspector. Scott goes above and beyond when going through the inspection process with our clients. He not only is extremely thorough with every inspection, he also takes the time to educate the buyer and provides a solution when possible. His reports are extremely detailed, easy to review and he always makes time to answer any questions the client or I may have. Thanks, Scott for your honesty and integrity! -Calvin, Landing Real Estate
