Granite State Renovators is an owner-operated renovation company on Warren Avenue in Manchester, New Hampshire, run by Adam Danis, who describes himself as a fourth-generation carpenter. The jobs customers describe are basements taken from bare foundation to finished living space, decks, kitchens, drywall and structural repair work. Basements are the clearest specialty. A July 2026 customer wrote that the crew took theirs from bare foundation walls to a completely finished space, handling framing, insulation, drywall, painting, electrical, plumbing and flooring; a June 2026 customer had one built out into a home gym with a wet bar and noted that Adam started on a tighter timeline than any other contractor they had spoken to. Decks come up nearly as often - a July 2026 reviewer said the crew solved details other contractors could not figure out, and a March 2026 Houzz reviewer described a 16-by-36 Trex deck delivered exactly as promised. The most demanding job in the record is a July 2026 structural repair: a newly bought house where a previous owner's unpermitted DIY removal of load-bearing wall had left the dining room ceiling and the bedroom floor above sagging by several inches. That reviewer specifically credited both the technical knowledge and the project management. Punctuality and cleanliness recur in almost every account across five years, and several reviewers mention fair, clearly explained pricing. One customer who never actually hired the company still praised how quickly and completely the estimate and follow-up questions were handled. Two things are worth knowing before you call. The one poor review is from June 2021: a customer said Adam communicated well and priced well at first, then did not complete the tile job he had started and stopped answering messages. Nothing since repeats that pattern, but it is the single unresolved account on the file. And the company's own tenure claims do not agree - its Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles say fourteen years of experience while its Thumbtack profile says five years in business, so ask directly how long the company itself has been operating. New Hampshire does not register general contractors or remodelers statewide, so there is no state licence to look up for this work; the Angi profile states the business offers free estimates and does not offer warranties. A good fit for basement build-outs, decks and remodels where you want one owner on site running the job. Confirm the scope, the payment stages and what happens to punch-list items in writing before work starts.

I’m extremely satisfied with our new deck built by Granite State Renovators! It is better than I even imagined it would be! Also, Adam and his crew were able to accomplish things that other contractors were not able to figure out. Excellent work. Highly recommended!
Granite State Renovators did an outstanding job finishing our basement from start to finish. They took it from bare foundation walls to a completely finished living space, handling everything including framing, insulation, drywall, painting, electrical, plumbing, flooring, and all the finishing details. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, communication was great throughout the project, and they kept everything clean and organized. The crew was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly took pride in their work. The finished basement exceeded our expectations and has completely transformed our home. I highly recommend Granite State Renovators to anyone looking for a contractor who delivers high-quality work and stands behind what they do.
If you are looking for a highly skilled contractor with both the technical know-how and the organizational ability to manage complex projects, I can wholeheartedly recommend Adam Danis and Granite State Renovators for the job! My partner and I hired Adam to address a major structural issue identified at our newly purchased home, namely the unpermited DIY removal of several feed worth of load-bearing wall, causing the dining room ceiling (and the floor of the master bedroom) to sag by multiple inches. The result was a project requiring significant demolition and removal of existing materials, installation of a engineered support beam with hung floor joists, and anything else needed to ensure the result is properly permitted and code-compliant, as well as the associated drywall repair and painting. Moreover, the work needed to be completed within a very limited timeframe: the two-week gap between our closing date and the end of our lease. This was a tall order, and one which multiple contractors turned down, but Adam was more than up for the challenge! Not only did he and his team do exceptional work during the beam installation, he also handled all of the coordination with the town building inspector, beginning well in advance, to ensure everything proceeded smoothly and on schedule once the work began. As a result, he was able to complete all the structural work and associated inspections in just two days! And the final product demonstrates the exceptional craftsmanship of him and his team, and is not only a drastic improvement in terms of safety, but aesthetically as well! In sum, it was a delight working with Adam for this project, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results! He will definitely be my go-to contractor for future projects, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone else in a similar situation!
Adam did a great job finishing our basement into a home gym with a wet bar. We’re very happy with how the space turned out, and the quality of the finished product looks great. Throughout the project he was willing to address our punch list and make sure everything was completed. He was also able to start our project on a tighter timeline than any other contractor we spoke with, which was a huge advantage and something we really appreciated. Adam always showed up when he said he would and had a great team of subcontractors. Overall we’re very pleased with the final result.
We hired Granite State Renovators to remodel our deck and are extremely happy with the outcome. Adam was great to work with from start to finish. He was responsive, honest about the process, and kept us informed throughout the project. The finished deck came out better than we expected. The craftsmanship and attention to detail really show, and it’s clear he takes pride in his work. The crew showed up when they said they would, kept the area clean, and made the whole experience stress free. I would definitely recommend Granite State Renovators to anyone looking for quality work and a contractor they can trust.
