Great Lawns Plus

A customer wrote in May 2023 that their yard had looked better than at any point in the 23 years they had owned the house, lush and green the whole season, and put it down to fertilizing at the right moment with the right product. That is the work Great Lawns Plus does: treatment programs rather than mowing, covering fertilization, weed and grub control, aeration, and mosquito and tick applications across MetroWest and the South Shore. The company says its people are licensed and trained through the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture. The technicians get named. A July 2024 customer said Kurt Champagne is punctual, listens to their concerns and offers advice on keeping the lawn healthy. An April 2023 customer thanked Kurt for being careful with a dog that gets nervous around the machine. A September 2022 client with a couple of properties said Mark and his team turned a lawn riddled with weeds and bare spots into a thick one. Twice, customers have written about how a problem was handled. In May 2024 a long-standing customer said the crew accidentally sprayed weed killer across the yard, and that they only learned of it because the company phoned to tell them and offered to cover whatever was needed. In March 2025 a reviewer described his wife paying twice what she owed, and called the company honest for the way that went. Crabgrass is where the complaints sit. An August 2022 customer said the lawn still had plenty of it after a rough weather year, and an August 2023 customer said there was as much as when the program started. Separately, a September 2025 customer whose visit was flagged by email in advance wanted the marker left in the corner of the lawn, instructions on watering afterwards and a note on the lawn's condition, all of which had come as standard before. For a season-long treatment programme on an established lawn around Southborough, Shrewsbury, Westborough, Newton or Marlborough, this is a strong call. Ask how crabgrass is handled and when the pre-emergent goes down, and ask for a written summary after each visit.
