Green Energy Mechanical's July 2026 reviews keep landing on one technician: Khalil appears in five of them, all five stars — once as the master plumber who showed up early to look at a cracked sewer pipe, once alongside Joel on what a homeowner called a major plumbing problem. The Canton company says it has been family-owned since 2008, working across Norfolk County, and that owner Jonathan Neves has been in HVAC since he was 17. Heating, cooling and plumbing are all in house, and its Massachusetts HVAC and plumber licences are both active on the state registry. The bigger jobs draw the longer write-ups. A homeowner writing in April 2026 had a boiler replaced, an old drain pipe pulled out, and a water softener, filtration and shut-off valve installed, and singled out the plumber, Pavel. In a November 2025 review, the owner of an old house described crews finding paths for a heat pump and mini-splits where the runs were not easy, working through a cold spell. Two technicians replaced and insulated a house's duct work in July 2026. Google carries 4.6 stars from 776 ratings. The complaints are about money. A July 2026 customer was quoted a $49 diagnostic charge, then told an advanced diagnostic would cost $495 — ten times what was agreed — and says no diagnostic report arrived. Another, a day earlier, calls service quality poor and describes constant upselling of unnecessary products or services; a four-star review from that same month took off a star for "some upselling of service"; and a January 2025 customer having a Navien tankless water heater repaired says the company upsold a $2,000 water filter. A Reddit commenter in 2024 said a Green Energy quote came in high, that the company followed up every day, and that it then matched a substantially lower competing price without hesitation. Two large installations went wrong. An April 2026 review of a $45,000 job says the company went silent after payment and that improperly removed ductwork caused air-flow and sealing problems the customer had to call them back to redo. A January 2025 review of a roughly $45,000 heat pump installation says the main floor cannot get above 60° once it drops below freezing, and that raising it brought the answer that they were using the heat wrong. Scheduling has slipped too: a January 2026 customer was assured of a first-thing morning visit for an urgent problem and says the company was unable to come. For a heat pump, a mini-split retrofit, or a plumbing call where you want a licensed plumber on the truck, this is a shop with the trades to cover it. Get the diagnostic fee — and what triggers the advanced one — in writing before a truck rolls, ask the price of any add-on before agreeing to it, and on a big install nail down the callback terms and who finishes the punch list after the final payment.
