A 2023 customer said Grove Gardens Landscaping replaced a 20 foot retaining wall along their driveway in Madison. In that 2023 review, the customer said Gary came out to do the estimate himself, and that after one point of miscommunication he had a crew onsite within an hour to take care of it. A 2022 customer described a 2-day job that covered topsoil and re-seeding portions of the lawn, relocating a large boulder and gravel work, and said the foreman Pete was patient with their requests. In a 2013 review, a customer with a steep wooded hill said Rick from Grove Gardens proposed building the retaining walls from large boulders he had on hand, then sculpted the hill to create the terraces and reseeded everything. That 2013 customer also said they had to withhold the final payment to get him to come out for corrections. A 2017 customer said Gary used vintage bricks so the new walk "looks as if it has always been there." A 2015 customer said the initial job went fine, but after calling a year later about mulch and some plants, they never heard back. I had an excellent experience with Grove Gardens Landscaping in December 2022 when they replaced a 20 foot retaining wall along my driveway in Madison. Gary came out to do the estimate himself, and was very patient when I emphasized the need to stay within my budget and asked a lot of questions about exactly how the work would be done. The crew members were great, they arrived promptly each morning, and worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done in the promised time frame. They even came up with several excellent suggestions for one corner to improve the drainage there and give it a more finished look. I had one point of miscommunication with Gary, but I was able to reach him right away, and he had a crew onsite within an hour to take care of it. I would definitely use them again.
I hired GG for a 2-day job to take care of several things around my yard including topsoil & re-seeding portions of my lawn, relocating a large boulder, and gravel work. GG was professional from the start with an appointment visit followed up with a formal quote. The day of the job, the foreman Pete showed up with his crew. He was friendly, professional, and patient with my requests and even took care of a couple of small things that he didn't have to. They did a great job. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.
Gary was creative and used vintage bricks, so the new walk looks as if it has always been there. The project started and finished on time. The cost was very competitive. Nice touch: they re-seeded several bald areas in our lawn adjacent to the project.
The initial job went fine; my issue is with follow up. I called a year later to ask for some mulch and also had a few plants that needed some help post replanting. was told that someone would come and an estimate and I would hear from them. I never did; called and left voicemail but gave up. Frankly, I had problems getting them to pay attention on the first job, so it wasn't a total surprise. But it's simply not professional to say you are going to give a quote to a previous client and then just ignore them.
Great job.
